Provides polysomnographic testing to patients from newborn to 21 years of age consistent with accepted standards. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience
- 10 years' experience in polysomnography or a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
Preferred Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Certification Summary
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
- If less than 10 years of experience, Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification

Job Responsibilities
- Independently performs diagnostic polysomnographic testing and scoring in accordance with accepted national standards to patients from newborn to 21 years of age, integrating emotional, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs of the patient and family.
- Monitors and appropriately addresses the comprehension, understanding, and compliance of the patient and family with regard to treatment and testing.
- Identifies and corrects issues with testing technical quality.
- May assist with orientation of new staff and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
