We will rely on your exceptional work ethic to be responsible for working on new construction projects and maintaining existing overhead facilities. Work performed may involve voltages from 69KV to 500KV.
Alternative days and hours may be required (Tuesday - Saturday) per LOMA (3/12/2008).
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or G. E. D.
- Completed a Registered Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent training program (as approved by APS T&D Technical & Safety Training) PLUS one year experience as a Journeyman Lineman**
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class "A") with ability to meet all DOT requirements
- Must live within reasonable distance (one (1) hour) of headquarters.
- Experience working on all types of distribution lines including 4kv to 21kv and all related equipment required
- Requires working with aerial equipment, which has weight restrictions of 300 pounds or less
- Must pass written and hands-on exam and successfully demonstrate climbing skills
- Necessary overtime work will be required
- The established headquarters for this position is subject to relocation to the Hub West Service Center, a facility that will be located 38 miles west of downtown Phoenix, on a date to be determined by the Company.
- Subject to out-of-town assignments and emergent calls.
- Opportunity to Support External Human Cargo (EHC) Operations.
DOT Information: A new DOT exam will be performed with an APS nurse practitioner within 2 weeks of being hired, candidates will need to come prepared for the DOT exam, by bringing:
- List of all medication, including the dosage.
- If diabetes, a record of their most recent Hgb A1C. The a1c must be a printed-out lab copy and not only available to view on a smart device such as a cell phone. If using insulin, bring insulin dependent treatment form.
- If sleep apnea, a report from CPAP machine showing proper use. This must be printed out and cannot be available to view on a smart device such as a cell phone.
- If seeing the specialists (Cardiologist, Neurologist or other Specialty doctor), candidates will need to bring a clearance letter advising the doctor is aware of diagnosis and individual is a DOT driver and good to drive.

*Registered Apprenticeship Program Criteria: Program must have a documented process for hours worked in the field in the work processes associated with the craft e.g. distribution, transmission, maintenance, etc. Registered apprenticeship programs for the trades in question require 7,000 - 10,000 hours (3 -5 years). Program must have documented proof of completion of related education classroom courses. Registered apprenticeship programs require a minimum of 144 hours per year of related education courses during the course of the apprenticeship program
** Journeyman level experience must be documented in writing if you are unable to provide us a certificate of completion of Registered Apprenticeship. This will require a letter on company letterhead documenting your title, details of your roles and responsibilities, and length of time in that position. It must be signed by an operations or HR manager. This information will be subject to verification.

Role Type

Eligibility:
Must live or relocate within reasonable distance to the headquarters. Reasonable distance is defined as one (1) hour for Metro and State Region locations.
