Job Summary:

The Leadership & Belonging assistant is an hourly role offered to post-secondary graduate students interested in gaining experience supporting the development of students. This role will directly develop and support the Student Success Workshops, the Student Leadership Justice Lab and events through our Office of Student Leadership & Belonging.
Student Success Workshops: Workshops provided throughout the semester to support students understanding of college processes, including Drop/Withdraw, financial aid packages, how to study, etc.
Student Leadership Justice Lab: Cohort leadership program that develops students as conscious leaders of our campus

Duties & Responsibilities:

Student Success Workshop Facilitation :
โ€ข Plan, reserve rooms, and schedule workshops for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semester
โ€ข Create and distribute marketing and messaging to provide awareness for the workshops
โ€ข Develop and edit presentations for each workshop
โ€ข Present each workshop topic in a hybrid model: in-person and virtually
โ€ข Order supplies, food, and materials for each workshop when appropriate
Leadership Program Coordination and Facilitation
โ€ข Help with the facilitation of leadership development sessions. These sessions will occur on Thursdays once a month from October to April from 4-8pm.
โ€ข Review leadership program applications and assist with participant selection processes.
โ€ข Assist in the onboarding process, such as communicating program expectations and requirements.
โ€ข Support curriculum preparation, session logistics, and attendance tracking.
โ€ข Provide guidance and support to student participants throughout their leadership development experience.
Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting
โ€ข Support the collection and organizing of survey data, attendance records, and other data points.
โ€ข Conduct basic quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
โ€ข Support annual reporting and assessment initiatives for Student Leadership & Belonging.
Event Planning, Programming, and Student Engagement
โ€ข Support with event set-up, execution, troubleshooting, and breakdown.
โ€ข Help with CCD Student Awards process and event execution.
โ€ข Represent the office at outreach activities, resource fairs, and student engagement opportunities.
Student Support and Office Operations
โ€ข Provide front-line support to students seeking involvement opportunities and connecting with appropriate campus resources.
โ€ข Respond to inquiries through email, phone, social media, and in-person interactions.
โ€ข Support office coverage and day-to-day administrative functions as needed.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies/KSAs:

ยท Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
ยท Excellent organizational ability to manage multiple projects and to work independently and in a team.
ยท Microsoft (MS) Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.

Minimum Qualifications:

ย An associateโ€™s degree from an accredited institution
ย At least 1 year of work experience that included creating and modifying presentations on PowerPoint or Canva, and
ย At least 1 year of work experience that included using Microsoft tools such as outlook, teams, SharePoint, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

ย A bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited institution
ย Enrolled in a Graduate Program related to Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Higher Education
ย At least 1 year of work experience that includes all requirements from the minimum qualifications, as well as leadership in a studentย  ย  ย organization
ย Event set up, breakdown and coordination.
