Tessera is seeking anexperienced LocomotiveFieldService Technician.The Locomotive Field Service Technicianis responsible forinspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, andmaintainingdiesel-electric locomotives and related rail equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation, whilemaintainingcompliancewith all applicable Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations and company safety standards.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Perform daily, periodic, annual, and biennial locomotive inspectionsin accordance withFRA 49 CFR Part 229 SubpartB.
Repair or replace major locomotive components, including diesel engines, power assemblies, air brake systems, traction motors, generators, trucks, wheels, and axles.
Inspect locomotives for oil, fuel, air, and coolant leaks, as well as structural defects.
Identifyand document rail defects, track geometry issues, and deficiencies involving ties, ballast, and fasteners.
Perform orassistwith minor track maintenance and repairs, including rail fastening, joint tightening, tie replacement, and ballast stabilization.
Operate cranes, forklifts, jacks, hoists, rail maintenance tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Employees must have the ability toperformthe following physical demands for extended periods of time with or withoutassistance. The physical demands of this position may bereasonably accommodatedfor individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
May berequiredto reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also berequired.
