Description
The City of Jefferson is now accepting applications for Synchronized & Ice Skating Instructors for our Parks and Recreation Department at the Washington Park Ice Arena.
Examples of Duties
Synchronized Instructors
Responsible for instruction in the Parks and Recreation synchronized ice skating program. They organize, choreograph and teach synchronized ice skating routines for teams of various age and ability levels.
Ice Skating Instructors
Responsible for instruction in the Parks and Recreation ice skating lessons utilizing ISI techniques. They organize and teach group ice skating lessons to various ages and ability levels including hockey skills.
Typical Qualifications
Synchronized Instructors
Synchronized Ice Skating Coaches must have excellent ice skating skills, experience in synchronized ice skating required and the availability and resources to travel to various competitions. Previous teaching experience preferred.
Synchronized Ice Skating Coaches positions prefers candidates to be at least 18 years of age, first aid and CPR certification.
Ice Skating Instructors
Ice Skating Instructors must have excellent ice skating skills; experience in ISI skating program is strongly preferred; previous teaching experience preferred; familiarity with ISI instructional programs; and ISI Freestyle 4 or equivalent in USFS preferred.
Ice Skating/Hockey Instructors position prefers candidates to be at least 16 years of age and have first aid and CPR certification.
Supplemental Information
Both positions are paid by the hour.
Hours and days of the week vary based on the needs of the community.
