Position: Figure Skating Instructor
Application Deadline: 9/6/2026
We invite energetic and committed individuals to apply for Figure Skating Instructor positions. Under the close supervision of the Skating Director and the Assistant Ice Arena Manager, this position is responsible for the supervision and instruction of the Learn to Skate, Academy Prep, and Figure Skating Academy programs. The position will keep accurate attendance records, develop lesson plans, as well as evaluate and assess skill level and progress of all participants. The job may require shifts ranging from morning to evening hours. Applicants must be available late afternoons/evenings on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays.
Minimum Qualifications
Figure Skating Instructor I
Starting Rate: $17.50
  • One year experience coaching or assistant group lessons.
  • Three years of skating experience.
  • Successful completion of the U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) Preliminary Singles test, Preliminary Skating Skills Test, or Bronze Ice Dance test.

Figure Skating Instructor II
Starting Rate: $20.75
  • Three years experience coaching in group and private lessons.
  • Five years of skating experience.
  • Successful completion of of U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) Bronze Singles test, Pre-Silver Skating Skills Test, or Pre-Silver Ice Dance Test.

Figure Skating Instructor III
Starting Rate: $22.75
  • Five years experience coaching in group and private lessons.
  • Maintain current U.S. Figure Skating Coach Compliance and Accreditation
  • Instructor shall be a working Figure Skating Instructor with a combination of at least three of the following criteria:
    • Eight years of skating experience.
    • Successful completion of U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) Gold Test in Singles, Skating Skills, Ice Dance , or Pairs.
    • Successful completion of the U.S. Figure Skating Core Coach Certification.
    • Hold a minimum of a U.S. Figure Skating Level 1 Coach Accreditation in one (1) specialized discipline.

Experience and Skills
  • Previous figure skating coaching experience.
  • Knowledge of United States Figure Skating Basic Skills program format.
  • Concussion recognition training is required prior to employment and must be renewed annually.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications preferred, required within 60 days of hire.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
