PCG Consulting International partners with healthcare organizations to solve complex operational, technology, and business challenges that improve financial performance and patient care. PCG Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Integration Consultant to support a large-scale hospital revenue recovery and operational stabilization initiative.

This consultant will assess, troubleshoot, and improve the interfaces that move clinical, patient, financial, and billing information between Paragon and the hospital’s connected systems. The role will be critical to identifying integration failures, validating data movement, and restoring the information flow required for accurate charge capture, billing, and claim generation.

Working closely with Healthcare Data Architects, Paragon consultants, Revenue Cycle professionals, HIM and Coding teams, and hospital IT leadership, the Senior Healthcare Integration Consultant will help determine where data exchanges have failed and support the technical remediation needed to restore reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess healthcare interfaces supporting clinical, financial, and revenue cycle workflows.
  • Analyze data movement between Paragon and connected hospital applications.
  • Troubleshoot interface failures, data mismatches, missing transactions, and processing errors.
  • Evaluate the flow of patient, encounter, charge, coding, billing, and claims data.
  • Review interface specifications, message structures, error logs, and exception queues.
  • Develop and validate HL7 interfaces and related healthcare data exchanges.
  • Support data reconciliation and claim reconstruction activities.
  • Identify integration gaps affecting charge capture, billing, and reimbursement.
  • Partner with application, database, infrastructure, and vendor teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Assist with interface testing, validation, remediation, and deployment activities.
  • Support the development of repeatable or automated data recovery processes.
  • Create interface documentation, data-flow diagrams, issue logs, and technical recommendations.
  • Communicate findings and risks to project leadership and hospital stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of healthcare integration, interface development, or healthcare application support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 messaging standards, including ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT, and SIU transactions.
  • Experience integrating hospital EHR, patient accounting, clinical, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, or billing systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting healthcare interfaces and resolving data transmission failures.
  • Strong understanding of hospital clinical and revenue cycle data flows.
  • Experience with interface engines such as Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, Corepoint, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with interface testing, data validation, and production issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and operational healthcare teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical or integration experience with the Paragon EHR.
  • Experience supporting hospital revenue cycle recovery, EHR remediation, or system conversion initiatives.
  • Knowledge of FHIR, REST APIs, web services, and other modern interoperability methods.
  • Experience with claims-related transactions, including X12 837, 835, 270/271, or 276/277.
  • Familiarity with patient identity, encounter management, charge interfaces, and financial data reconciliation.
  • Healthcare consulting experience.
  • Experience supporting acute care hospitals or multi-hospital health systems.
Engagement Details
  • Project-Based W2 consulting employment.
  • Work is expected to be performed primarily remotely.
  • Occasional onsite meetings or working sessions in the Chicago metropolitan area may be required.
  • Weekly hours may vary based on project phase, workstream priorities, and client needs.
  • The initial engagement is expected to span several months, with the possibility of extension.
