Familiarity with scheduling apps, communication tools, and safety monitoring devices is often required. Patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills help build trust and effectively manage the needs of those in your care. What are sitters?

Sitters are individuals who provide temporary care and supervision for children, pets, or sometimes elderly individuals, usually in the client’s home. Their primary responsibilities include ensuring safety, engaging in activities, following routines, and sometimes handling basic tasks like meal preparation or light housekeeping. Sitters are often hired on an as-needed basis, such as for evenings, weekends, or special occasions. The role of a sitter can vary depending on the needs of the client and the age or type of those being cared for.

What are some common challenges sitters face when working with new families, and how can they overcome them?

Sitters often encounter challenges such as adapting to different household routines, building trust with children and parents, and managing unfamiliar behavioral expectations.
