Site Safety Jobs (NOW HIRING)

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Site Safety Representative to join our team. Reporting directly to the Regional HSE Consultant, this role is responsible for promoting, monitoring, and supporting safe working conditions across active construction project sites. You will collaborate closely with regional HSE leadership, site supervisors, project managers, trade contractors, and cross-functional teams to identify and control hazards, support regulatory compliance (including OSHA standards), and drive a proactive safety culture across site operations.

• Safety Inspections, Audits & Hazard Oversight: Conduct regular site walkthroughs, formal safety audits, and operational assessments across varied work areas. Identify, evaluate, and facilitate the prompt resolution of safety hazards, regulatory non-compliance, and unsafe working practices in alignment with regional health, safety, and environmental guidance.
• Document Control & Compliance Management: Manage, maintain, and oversee all site safety documentation, including inspection records, audit findings, safety logs, injury records (e.g., OSHA 300 logs), SDS binders, and project safety files. Administer document control workflows to ensure site records remain current, accurate, audit-ready, and available for regional HSE review.
• Training, Education & Safety Facilitation: Design, schedule, and deliver workforce safety education, including new hire safety orientations, routine Toolbox Talks, and targeted specialized training sessions as needed (such as fall protection, scaffolding safety, or confined space protocols).
• Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Lead or support the timely investigation of all near-misses, injuries, equipment damage, and site incidents. Determine root causes, formulate actionable safety recommendations, and track corrective/preventive actions through completion in coordination with the Regional HSE Consultant.
• Job Planning & Hazard Mitigation Support: Review and assist in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and site-specific safety plans prior to and during high-risk operations or changing site conditions.
• Emergency Preparedness & Response: Coordinate site emergency response plans, inspect and maintain life safety and first aid resources, and act as a primary liaison for local emergency services and site response personnel.
• Operational Adaptability & Additional Duties: Adapt to evolving project requirements by performing other safety-related tasks, administrative duties, or specialized field evaluations as directed by the Regional HSE Consultant and project leadership.

• Direct Report: Reports to the Regional HSE Consultant.
• Key Stakeholders: Site Supervisors, Project Managers, Subcontractors, Trade Crews, and Local Emergency Response Personnel.

• Experience:
  • (7) consecutive years that have been dedicated solely to building construction safety.
  • (5) years of building construction safety management experience (General industry or specialty contractor safety experience will not be considered for meeting the comprehensive building construction experience requirement.)
  • Any proposed SSR shall also be able to demonstrate continuing safety training for the claimed time period.
  • Any candidate that has completed a four (4) year degree in a construction safety discipline shall also be able to show at least three (3) years of actual field experience in building construction safety to be considered for a SSR position.
  • In addition to the required experience level, the SSR shall have practical knowledge, working experience, and documented continuing education in all of the following: a) fall protection, b) scaffold (ground supported and suspended), c) excavation/trench, d) confined space (permit/non-permit), e) crane operation, f) electrical safety, g) incident investigation, h) industrial hygiene for construction, i) fire protection and prevention, j) lockout/tagout, k) basic crane rigging, and 1) respiratory protection.
• Certifications
  • Successful achievement of a nationally recognized safety certification (CSP, CHST, etc.) may add up to an additional two (2) years of experience. The UTS-ORM reserves the right to determine years of credit based on the recognition of the certification and requirements to achieve and maintain certification.
  • Training of less than four (4) hours in duration per topic will not be considered acceptable for this requirement. Continuing education of noted training must be dated within five (5) years of the Notice to Proceed for Construction Services (or Owner's equivalent) for the Project. OSHA 500 Trainer Course for Construction or OSHA 510 OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry certificates alone will not be acceptable for this training requirement. The PSC shall also possess a certificate of completion for the OSHA 500 Trainer Course for Construction or OSHA 502 Update for the Construction Industry Outreach Trainers. The SSR must show evidence of specialized training with in-person demonstration of competency for Emergency First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) current to within two (2) years.

• Analytical mindset with practical problem-solving skills suited for fast-paced, multi-trade job site environments.
• Proficiency with digital safety management platforms, tablet-based reporting tools, and standard office software.

• Location: Active construction project sites (exposure to outdoor/indoor environmental conditions, noise, dust, and heavy machinery).
• Schedule: Full-time; schedule flexibility may be required to support early starts, extended project hours, or weekend operations based on site demands.

• Reliable Transportation: Candidate must have reliable personal transportation to travel to assigned job sites and project locations as required.
• Physical Requirements: Candidate must be physically capable of standing, walking, and inspecting active construction sites for up to 12 hours per day, including negotiating uneven terrain and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
