The Position
The Network Administrator provides network operations and engineering support for JSSC Site-R systems. The position is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and resilient network infrastructure supporting mission-critical Command and Control (C2) and Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) systems. The role includes coordination with multiple DoD and external organizations, execution of network configuration and troubleshooting activities, and ensuring compliance with DISA and DoD network and cybersecurity standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform network management functions including planning, designing, allocating, deploying, coordinating, and monitoring network operations for Site-R systems
  • Conduct remote network administration and support physical deployment activities for Pentagon NMCC systems
  • Configure, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices
  • Coordinate with DISA, Joint Service Provider (JSP), and other DoD entities to resolve network incidents and ensure compliance with connectivity requirements
  • Utilize network monitoring and diagnostic tools to analyze performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions
  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes in accordance with ITIL and SOPs
  • Maintain network documentation, configurations, and operational logs in accordance with DoD standards
  • Participate in testing, validation, and deployment of new network technologies and upgrades
  • Support continuity of operations (COOP) activities and emergency response requirements as mission essential personnel

Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility; AND,
  • DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent), AND;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant network engineering experience supporting enterprise-level network infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, design, and implementation of network solutions across LAN/WAN environments.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Ability to support Tier II/III network operations, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
  • Experience coordinating with DoD organizations and network stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Ability to support COOP operations and relocation requirements as mission essential personnel

PREFERRED

  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Dell, and General Dynamics TACLANE network devices
  • Familiarity with Forescout, Cisco Sourcefire, and enterprise network security tools
  • Experience with VLANs, ACLs, routing protocols, and network segmentation
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting GCCS-J, NCCS, or other DoD C2 systems
  • Familiarity with network testing tools (e.g., Fluke) and performance monitoring solutions
