Pape-Dawson's Atlanta office serves as a regional hub for our Georgia team, supporting clients across the Southeast with deep local insight and access to statewide resources. As a full-servicecivil engineering company in Atlanta, our professionals support projects from early due diligence and site feasibility through design, coordination, and permitting, working closely with teams across Georgia to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Overview:

The Project Engineer leads the design and coordination of site / commercial development projects. Applies advanced civil engineering knowledge to produce site layouts, grading, utilities, and drainage plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for civil site projects
  • Develop grading, drainage, and utility designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Conduct feasibility analyses and layout studies for site optimization
  • Support permitting efforts with reports, exhibits, and technical responses
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory entities
  • Perform quality reviews of design deliverables
  • Guide junior engineers and review their technical work
  • Prepare drainage studies and utility service reports
  • Manage task-level schedules and project milestones
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to project planning

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in land development or civil site design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with grading, utility, and drainage design standards
