ROLE PURPOSE 

With this role, you will be Product Manager in the ATC Domain.

Air Traffic Control (ATC) sits at the very heart of global aviation. It is a safetycritical, highly regulated domain, ensuring the safe, orderly, and efficient flow of air traffic worldwide. ATC services are essential national infrastructure, governed by stringent international and regional regulations (ICAO, EASA, regional ANSP frameworks) and characterized by long life cycles, high reliability requirements, and close collaboration between ANSPs, airlines, regulators, and technology providers.

Within this environment, ATC Communications and ATC Applications play a central role in enabling controller–pilot communications, surveillance, automation, and decisionsupport services that underpin airspace safety and capacity.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Product Manager - ATC Communications & Applications is responsible for driving the innovation, definition, commercialization, and performance of a portfolio of ATC products and services. Covering both communications (e.g. voice, datalink, networks) and ATC applications, the role owns the product life cycle endtoend, from early concept to retirement and support the product strategy.


Qualifications
WHAT YOU WILL DO

1. Product Innovation, Definition & Life Cycle Management

  • Continuously analyse the ATC market, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to identify opportunities, threats, and emerging trends.
  • Engage regularly with customers, ANSPs, airlines, industry bodies, and partners to shape and refine the product vision and longterm strategy.
  • Support the endtoend development of new products and major evolutions, including:
    • Market research and customer interviews
    • Definition of value proposition, use cases, and key requirements
    • Structuring development phases and MVP scope
    • Input into pricing principles and gotomarket strategy
  • Define and prioritize product features, maintaining a clear and actionable product roadmap, while securing alignment and buyin from stakeholders.
  • Work closely with engineering and development teams to drive product and project delivery, ensuring scope, quality, safety, and regulatory constraints are fully addressed.
  • Develop AI-enabled product leadership: Work with engineering and data teams to translate AI capabilities into clear customer value, improved decisionmaking, and measurable business impact.
  • Coordinate with crossfunctional teams (operations, service management, regulatory, security, finance, sales) to ensure full product industrialization.
  • Own the complete product life cycle, from concept and development through growth, maturity, and retirement.
  • Manage existing product partners and identify opportunities to extend or create partnerships that enhance product value and competitiveness.
  • Act as the primary product point of contact for airlines, Sales, BDMs, Engineering, Customer Success, Legal, and Finance.

2. Product Marketing & GotoMarket

  • Lead product demos, customer workshops, and roadmap deep dives.
  • Define, implement, and continuously adapt a clear and effective gotomarket strategy, including positioning and pricing approach.
  • Enable revenue growth by equipping Sales teams with strong, consistent product messaging, value propositions, training material, and marketing content.
  • Actively support bid management, tenders, and presales activities, including customer discussions and solution articulation for ATC stakeholders.

3. Product Performance & Business Ownership

  • Represent SITA and the ATC products in customer and end user forums or events.
  • Own product performance, including profitability, businesscase realization, preparation of investment boards and contribution to strategic objectives.
  • Define and monitor KPIs and market adoption, identifying risks and opportunities for optimization.
  • Drive structured product governance ensuring transparency across commercial, engineering, and operational stakeholders.
  • Lead regular product and market performance reviews with senior leadership, providing clear recommendations to improve commercial and, where relevant, technical performance.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, ideally in Aviation or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management of technical B2B products, with a proven ability to bridge technical, operational, regulatory, and commercial perspectives. 
  • Experience in aviation, or other safetycritical and highly regulated environments, with a strong appreciation of certification, compliance, and operational constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to define, prioritize, and deliver complex product roadmaps across long life cycles, multiple stakeholders, and stringent regulatory frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of how AI can be applied responsibly in operational environments to improve decision making, efficiency, and performance, without compromising safety, accountability, or trust.
  • Handson experience using product management tools such as Aha! and Jira to manage requirements, roadmaps, and delivery execution.
  • Strong crossfunctional experience working closely with engineering, operations, service management, regulatory, security, finance, sales, and external partners.
  • Commercially minded, with exposure to pricing strategies, business cases, profitability management, and investment governance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholdermanagement skills, with the ability to engage credibly with customers, partners, and senior leadership.
  • Structured, analytical, and outcomeoriented, able to prioritize effectively and make sound decisions in complex, highstakes environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for customer workshops, industry forums, and internal or external events.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
