Lakeview Center provides comprehensive behavioral health care to adults and children with mental illnesses, drug and alcohol dependencies and intellectual disabilities. Across Northwest Florida, our services range from residential treatment to outpatient counseling, psychiatry, trauma care, treatments for substance misuse and 24/7 support for those with serious mental illnesses. The Meridian is a Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP) and offers treatment to Medicaid and/or Medicaid eligible children with a serious emotional disturbance that requires treatment in a residential treatment center. The Meridian provides mental health treatment for male and female children and adolescents between the ages of 7 and 17 and utilizes a multi-disciplinary treatment approach with a focus on psychotherapeutic intervention in a structured, community living environment with 24-hour supervision. The program also provides substance abuse intervention services for children and adolescents who are at risk for substance abuse and provides substance abuse treatment services for children and adolescents who have been identified as needing moderate substance abuse and related-problem treatment.

Overview:

A Behavior Health Technician assists the counselors/therapeutic/nursing staff by providing clinical support to adults and children who are receiving substance abuse, mental health services or co-occurring disorders in residential programs, inpatient settings, day/evening programs, outpatient programs and/or community-based programs.

This position is responsible for, but is not limited to:

Establishing a positive helping relationship with persons receiving services.
Assisting persons receiving services to complete activities of daily living, including accessing needed resources, and building functional, pro-social relationships with others. Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of person receiving services. Implementing specific interventions according to the person’s treatment or service plan. Monitoring and documenting the person’s progress.

Role Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain provided CPR certification.
  • Must be able to pass provided CPI training.
  • Must be able to complete the 20 hours of the required CCA (Child Caring Agency) training that is provided.
  • Must be able to pass Human Trafficking training and certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families, as required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work other behavioral health programs as needed.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

Compensation:

Base pay ranges from $15.00 - $16.12 an hour based on experience. Shift differential pay is $2.00- $4.00 per hour if applicable.
