What is the difference between Simulation Director vs Simulation Coordinator?
| Aspect | Simulation Director | Simulation Coordinator |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Bachelor's or Master's in healthcare, education, or related fields; certifications like CHSE or CSE | Similar credentials, often with focus on coordination and logistics |
| Work Environment | Leads simulation programs, manages teams, and oversees complex scenarios | Supports simulation activities, manages schedules, and handles logistics |
| Industry Usage | Used in healthcare, military, and education sectors for high-level simulation management | Commonly found in healthcare and training institutions for operational support |
The Simulation Director typically holds a leadership role, overseeing the entire simulation program, while the Simulation Coordinator focuses on logistical support and execution. Both roles require relevant credentials, but the Director has broader responsibilities in planning and management.

The program offers specialized training in the principles and practice of medical simulation with a focus on training, human factors, system engineering, and patient safety.
The goal of the Simulation and patient Safety Fellowship is to provide exceptional training in the fundamentals of designing and delivering medical simulations, performing simulation based clinical systems testing, following up on changes made from system testing. The fellowship is designed to be tailored to the needs of our trainees. All fellows will receive broad-based training in simulation and patient safety, receive a reading list of key articles, and a scholarship oversight committee that will include experts from around the country to help steer their research or educational project.
