Summary of Job Duties:The Standardized Participant is responsible for portraying scripted role of patients, family members, healthcare providers, and/or other roles as needed in simulation scenarios. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • None.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Prior simulation standardized participant experience preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Supporting Daily Operations:

  • Perform clerical functions related to center management;

  • Maintain professional and safe environment.

Executing Simulation Experience:

  • Portray scripted role of patient, family member, healthcare provider, or other roles as needed in simulation scenarios;

  • Assist faculty in monitoring students' safety.

Performing Post-Simulation Activities:

  • Provides subjective feedback to learners during debrief;

  • Assist with resetting simulation scenarios and restocking rooms as needed;

  • Assist in proper cleaning procedures as needed.

Performing Other Duties as Assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to consistently follow detailed scenario instruction at the direction of simulation faculty;

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a positive, helpful, and cooperative working relationship;

  • Reliably attend simulation activities as scheduled;

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
