Job description

The primary function of the Campus Life PRN is to service the needs of all Clients utilizing the quadrants of care which focus on Safety, Living Needs, Enrichment, and Recovery with emphasis on a pathway to rapid rehousing. The Campus Life PRN will ensure that they focus on responding to the needs of Clients from a recovery model, understanding trauma centered services, Person Centered Planning, and motivational interviewing techniques and adherence to Haven's core values. The Campus Life PRN is also to perform daily, consistent, and effective crisis intervention providing information to appropriate staff and partners regarding Client's mental and physical well-being to ensure appropriate services are provided. This position is a part-time, scheduled as needed position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Monitor all areas of the facility to ensure compliance with facility rules, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Respond to Client's requests, complaints, and inquiries.
  • Address procedural violations with Clients to ensure a clear understanding of expectations and to assist Clients with achieving compliance.
  • Conduct orientation, assign beds and lockers, issue linens/personal supplies and other items to new Clients entering services.
  • Exit Clients upon receiving notice they are exiting the campus and secure belongings in accordance with procedures.
  • Sign in/out, brief and provide direction and needed assistance to volunteers.
  • Conduct regular inspections documenting opportunities for improvement and celebrating Client's successes.
  • Identify and respond to any Client who is experiencing a problem or crisis to ensure that they are safe and that other service providers are aware of the situation and able to respond with appropriate services.
  • Partner with all Haven and Partner staff to ensure excellence in services provided to Members.
  • Carries hand radio and/or cell phone and responds immediately to all calls and takes appropriate action in coordination with Haven management
  • Work with educational and recreational enrichment efforts for children and adults.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

EDUCATION.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS.

  • To perform this successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES.

  • Computer Skills
    • Ability to operate and work effectively in Microsoft Office programs and to complete required data entry in electronic database systems daily
  • Language Skills
    • Individual must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as additions, subtractions, division and percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; ability to handle crisis situations at a mature level.

  • Normal walking requirements include the ability to move in and around personal workspace and to and from other areas including walking up and down stairs several times each day. This position requires that the majority of the work hours be spent walking around and monitoring of three separate facilities, all with multiple floors.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, e.g. office equipment, file boxes, donations, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
