Job Description:
Job Summary:
Plans, oversees and directs all phases of construction projects; may have direct reports, including, but not limited to, assistant project managers/estimators, and superintendents.
This positon may be based in Fort Collins, CO or Cheyenne, WY.
Main Responsibilities:
โ€ข Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Simon Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
โ€ข Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
โ€ข Partner with management teams to effectively utilize all resources, including personnel in order to complete assigned construction projects
โ€ข Attend preconstruction meetings and weekly progress meetings
โ€ข Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel and subcontractors; communicate with engineers, inspectors, suppliers, etc.
โ€ข Ensure timely delivery of materials
โ€ข Schedule utility locates as required
โ€ข Monitor traffic control on projects and meet all reporting requirements
โ€ข Maintain a project diary and provide project updates to management
โ€ข Ensure the company complies OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulations and reporting requirements
โ€ข Coordinate with project superintendents, project engineers, and foreman to ensure targets and deadlines are met
โ€ข Prepare and maintain time-phase charts, subcontracts, purchase orders, material orders, and schedules
โ€ข Prepare documents related to project planning and construction
โ€ข Make decisions concerning equipment needs, sequence of operations, and required staffing
โ€ข Maintain effective working relationships and effectively communicate with subcontractors and company business departments; support other department personnel as required
โ€ข Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts
โ€ข Promote and facilitate employee training, mentoring, and development for assigned direct reports; address performance concerns as needed
โ€ข Safely operate company vehicles and/or equipment
Education:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience
โ€ข Valid Driver's License and clean driving history required
Skills:
โ€ข 3+ years of progressive experience in construction operations, project management/estimating or related role
โ€ข Background in heavy highway, municipal, and/or commercial construction preferred
โ€ข HCSS, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and/or similar program experience preferred
โ€ข Proficiency in use of computers and mobile devices (Android/iOS), including MS Office programs required
Physical Requirements:
โ€ข Wears and maintains required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as required
โ€ข Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds with or without assistance to handle documents, equipment, and materials needed to support office and field-related operations
โ€ข Regularly uses hands to feel, handle, and manipulate objects, write, and operate a keyboard and/or mobile device to complete administrative tasks, documentation, and communication duties
โ€ข Regularly communicates (talks and hears) and uses visual acuity to exchange information, coordinate work, and review documents and plans necessary for project oversight
โ€ข Regularly operates a vehicle to travel to and from work sites to perform inspections, attend meetings, and support project activities
โ€ข Regularly sits for long periods at a desk using a computer to perform administrative, planning, and reporting responsibilities
โ€ข Frequently stands or works on feet for extended periods and walks across uneven terrain to navigate construction sites safely
โ€ข Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasks
โ€ข Frequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needs
โ€ข Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime; overnight travel may be required
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation*: $100,000.00-$140,000.00 DOE
*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual's qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
Benefits: All full-time hourly employees are eligible to participate in Simon benefits as defined in plan documents. Available benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, term life insurance, supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, 401K with company match, short-term disability, flexible spending plan, and education assistance. Other benefits include eight paid holidays, and access to available company discounts.
