Job description

The job of a recruiter at Simmons involves using a variety of creative methods and tools to actively attract top candidates for our job openings. This will include using job boards, social media efforts, referral programs, college recruiting, and attending various recruiting events. The right person will be upbeat, creative, a strong communicator, organized, goal oriented and persuasive. If this sounds like you, let's talk.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand the needs of each job opening by meeting with hiring leaders and fine-tuning job specifications.

  • Promote each opening through your network of candidates, job boards and other recruiting tools.

  • Conduct screening calls to determine which candidates should be highlighted to hiring leaders as top prospects.

  • Actively pursue candidates using a variety of methods including LinkedIn, job boards, college recruiting, referral promotions, job events, etc.

  • Research and benchmark top recruiting practices and test out new recruiting tools to keep Simmons' hiring efforts innovative and fresh.

  • Attract and promote a diverse slate of qualified candidates.

  • Track all recruiting activities and candidate dispositions in the recruiting applicant tracking system and ensure that recruiting methods and results are compliant with all laws and regulations.

  • Maintain confidentiality in all business practices.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Skills

  • At least three years' experience using recruiting tools and strategies including job boards, applicant tracking systems, social media recruiting, college recruiting, and referral programs.

  • Experience headhunting passive candidates to senior level openings.

  • Experience independently managing and improving recruiting related programs and projects such as referral bonus, college recruiting and/or diversity programs.

  • Strong work ethic with a comfort level handling a high volume of job openings across multiple geographies.

  • A track record of delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Persuasive when dealing with customers and key stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of recruiting related compliance laws.

  • Internally motivated and comfortable achieving quarterly recruiting metrics.

Education and/or Experience

  • BS/BA Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, and

  • A minimum of three years of work-related experience

Computer Skills

  • MS Office programs

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR), preferred.

Other Qualifications (including physical requirements)

  • Knowledge of, and experience with information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies.

  • Ability to recognize that good judgment must be used in displaying professional conduct and a professional appearance.

  • Ability to assure sensitivity and confidentiality towards the nature of human resources work.

  • Excellent time management skills.
