What We Are Looking For

The RN Simulation Educator is a clinically experienced nurse educator who will facilitate student learning in the Health Assessment, Professional Nursing Practice Skills Labs, open labs,will assist with graduate skills labs, and facilitate scenario-based simulation sessions. This educator will assess performance and competency of individual learners and provide remediation as needed, while serving as a professional role model for students in dress, communication, patient care delivery & advocacy, and problem-solving, to facilitate the students' socialization into the nursing profession. 

This position is grant-funded. Funding for this role is currently secured for two years from the grant's start date. Grant ends May 31, 2028, unless new grant funds are secured.

A Master's degree and two years of relevant work experience are required.. 

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. 

What You Will Do

Delivery of Content and Operations of the LHSON Simulation

  • Collaborates with didactic course faculty and other members of the LHSON Simulation staff to facilitate student learning in the Health Assessment and Professional Nursing Practice Skills Labs, while promoting the integration of simulation and other instructional technology, ensuring that students can meet the stated objectives 

  • Assesses student performance and level of competency; provide remediation as needed and communicate student performance issues or concerns to didactic course faculty 

  • Collaborates with the course faculty regarding content of lab and sequencing of lab activities. 

  • Collaborates with Manager of Operations to ensure adequate/appropriate supply availability 

  • Sets up and maintains lab spaces with the necessary equipment and supplies to facilitate student learning 

  • Maintain records of all skills-based simulation activities including number of students participants and student performance 

  • Provides support for the coordination and implementation of graduate lab immersions 

  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives or scholarly projects, as appropriate, related to lab instruction and/or other simulation activities

Collaboration and Instructional Support

  • Facilitate open lab practice sessions 

  • Support other simulation learning activities, on both the graduate and undergraduate levels

  • Serves as liaison for the graduate student immersions Collaborate with the faculty to ensure the LHSON Sim Program resources meet the educational course needs and promote student success

  • Support simulation learning activities and debriefing sessions

Relationships and communication

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all users of the LHSON Sim Labs, including other University departments and outside agencies. 

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with alumni, donors, and community partners. Ensures effective communication with faculty and students

Professional development and standards

  • Maintain an awareness and knowledge of industry developments. Other duties may be assigned similar to the above, consistent with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job.

Other

  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
