Job description

Silver Tree Residential, LLC is one of the fastest growing property management companies in the industry. We were formed in 2009 to operate a portfolio of apartment communities that now consists of over 100 properties, spanning 25 states, totaling over 13,000 units. Silver Tree Residential, LLC exists to provide the highest quality operations in senior and family housing communities.
Silver Tree Residential has an immediate opening for a full-time Maintenance Technician at our 225-unit SENIOR community located in Columbia, SC. This person reports directly to the Community Director and the Facilities Director. The Facilities Tech is responsible for the prompt and efficient performance of all tasks assigned and for continuous self-improvement of skills and expertise. We are looking for a reliable team member who is willing to uphold our community to the highest standards.
Summary of Requirements:
  • Working with the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor in managing all maintenance-related and capital improvement activities within the assigned property.
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment as necessary or as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems and various appliances, stoves, dishwashers, disposals, and refrigerators. Some familiarity with electricity, plumbing, and carpentry is required.
  • Satisfying work orders promptly and effectively
  • Assist in the make ready process of vacant apartments to get them ready for new move-ins in a timely and detail-oriented manner.
  • Capable of dealing effectively with employees, residents, vendors and co-workers.
  • Must have his/ her own tools.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and dependable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2 years' maintenance experience, preferably in the property management or hospitality industry. It is essential that the Facility Tech report to work at his/her regularly scheduled work hours and have the physical capability to walk all around the property (including stairs), lift items, and otherwise perform a variety of physical tasks regularly and as needed to complete position requirements.
