Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Marketing Manager leads the marketing and communications functions of the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) & Campus (Collins Canal Park, Rum Room, and Venu) through B2B and direct marketing activities, digital and social media, content marketing, online and print advertising, sponsorship, promotional activities, communications and marketing collateral. Enhances the image of the venue and its campus while promoting goodwill in the community. This position also manages the website and supports the Sales team by managing the functionality of the Booking System/CRM and reporting. Basic functions include event marketing, sponsorship/advertising sales and servicing, along with finding ways to grow revenue for the venue, campus and events while maintaining high levels of client services and excellence in customer service.

This role pays an annual salary of $82,000-$92,000.

About the Venue

The award-winning Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) welcomes meeting and event planners, exhibitors and attendees to Miami Beach and Miami. Reimagined following a $640-million-dollar renovation, the MBCC provides a world-class, state-of-the-art event venue for exceptional conferences, conventions, tradeshows, and meetings. The new 800-room, connected Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, is under development and slated to open in late 2027.  

A LEED Silver certified green building, the venue includes a magnificent Grand Ballroom, 500,000 square feet of flexible exhibition halls, 4 junior ballrooms, outdoor terraces & parks, and 84 breakout rooms. The MBCC's immediate proximity to lively South Beach, Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, and many other Miami Beach cultural arts attractions make it an ideal venue for your next event.

Responsibilities

Digital Sales & Marketing Eco-System Management

  • Maintains and enhances the MBCC's website, uploads and designs content, new pages, interactive features, digital collateral and integrates third party functionality and platforms such as interactive floorplans, AI (Artificial Intelligence) assistant, and online space booking (Momentus Technologies).
  • Manages Google Business platform, SEO and Google Search Ads (SEM).
  • Works with the IT department on integrating sales and marketing technology with overall business technology, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence tools.
  • Coordinates the functionality and enhancements of the Momentus Technologies Booking / CRM platform and collaborates with internal teams to optimize event booking data, calendar, and systems integrations across all departments.
  • Develops and implements digital selling strategies via LinkedIn, Cvent, and emerging online platforms, including the implementation and usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team at the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) to optimize and integrate digital sales and marketing tools and initiatives.

Content and Social Media Marketing

  • Manage and implement the Miami Beach Convention Center's social media strategy and program.
  • Coordinate day-to-day content & execution of all social media platforms, including content writing, photos, graphics, posting, sharing and engaging on (but not limited to) Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
  • Manage content (copywriting and visual/photo/video asset selection and creation) for ongoing, organic & paid social media posts, digital marketing channels and the website.
  • Use Artificial Intelligence (AI), Sprout Social, Canva and creative tools to optimize content creation.
  • Remains current with emerging internet marketing trends, tactics, strategies, and technologies, and engages with the events industry.

Event Marketing Support and Advertising/Sponsorship Sales

  • This position provides excellence in customer service to clients and coordinates marketing support for events including social media, content, communications, collateral, digital signage as a resource for sponsorship activations, event-related information, citywide information and/or venue and campus information.
  • Collaborate with vendors on prospecting, selling, cultivating, and maintaining the corporate sponsorships/advertising for the venue in both new and renewal business.
  • Supervises the implementation, management and maintenance of the digital signage and digital advertising/sponsorship programs in collaboration with the venue's operations and IT departments, the in-house A/V provider, outside vendors, software provider, procurement, and Sales & Marketing team members. Troubleshoots as appropriate, and coordinates with IT and A/V partners on technical hardware issues.

Communications and Promotions

  • Coordinates the creation and development of Marketing and Advertising plans. Develops and implements an advertising and publicity campaign to create regional, national, and international awareness of the venue and its campus, closely collaborating with the GMCVB, local hospitality industry and venue partners.
  • Creates and updates collateral, graphics, flyers, presentation documents, and coordinates the creation and distribution of promotional materials and paid media buys with vendors, agencies and partners, and the GMCVB.
  • Publishes various audience-targeted e-newsletters and maintains email database.
  • Coordinates communications with internal teams and external MBCC District partners, the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, venue partners and industry organizations.
  • Supports the DOSM with brand development, public relations, corporate communications, crisis communications, award & certificate management, as well as Corporate Social Responsibility programs including sustainability.
  • Supports the department with business development activities at industry and networking events.

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Generate and maintain a master analytics dashboard using Google Analytics and other digital sales and marketing platforms.
  • Collaborates on monthly and annual data reporting, special data projects, and tracks marketing deliverables (KPIs).
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, marketing, digital media, communications, or data analytics. Master's/MBA degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience in marketing, digital marketing, digital media or digital communications within the hospitality or related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with websites, CRM systems, content and digital eco-system management.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet these requirements may be substituted.

Computer Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS SharePoint, MS Teams and MS Outlook)
  • Extensive knowledge of website CMS (Drupal) and CRM systems
  • Proficiency with SEO, SEM and digital & social media marketing platforms
