Job description

What if your next career move gave you the opportunity to shape the success of multiple hotels, influence revenue strategy across an entire market, and lead a team that looks to you for direction and growth?
Western States Lodging & Management is searching for a driven, strategic, and hands-on Director of Sales to lead revenue generation and sales initiatives across a portfolio of hotel properties located in the thriving Point of the Mountain, Lehi, and Silicon Slopes corridor. If you enjoy building business, developing talent, creating partnerships, and seeing measurable results from your efforts, this rewarding leadership opportunity could be exactly what you've been looking for. Apply today and take the lead in one of Utah's fastest-growing hospitality markets.
At Western States Lodging & Management, your success matters. We believe exceptional results come from empowered leaders, strong collaboration, and a people-first culture where employees are supported and encouraged to grow. We offer a competitive salary based on experience, performance-based bonus opportunities, medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, a 401(k) with company match, Health Savings Account (HSA), paid time off and holidays, mileage reimbursement, hotel discounts, and additional employee perks.
WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT
Western States Lodging & Management was founded on the moral principles and traditional family values we learned growing up. We develop, build, and manage hotels, senior living communities, multi-family housing, and conference centers. Beneath all that brick and mortar is our cornerstone - rock-solid relationships.
Following our "personal touch" philosophy, our associates strive to make meaningful connections with each other, our customers, and our business partners. We entrust only the most dependable, dedicated, and trustworthy individuals with the care of our clients. Our company is very family-oriented! Each employee feels like an integral part of the team. We pride ourselves on providing each team member with competitive compensation, generous benefits, and a supportive work environment!
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A DIRECTOR OF SALES
Do you enjoy coaching and developing others to reach their full potential? Can you confidently build relationships with business leaders, community partners, and key accounts? Are you equally comfortable analyzing performance data and actively pursuing new business? Do you excel in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve, and opportunities emerge? Does that sound like you? If so, and you meet the following criteria, we want you as our Director of Sales!
  • Degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of hotel sales experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Proven ability to grow revenue and manage key accounts
  • Strong understanding of hotel sales metrics, reporting, and performance analysis
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally throughout the market

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience overseeing multiple hotel properties, familiarity with major hotel brands such as Marriott or Hilton, and a background in revenue management or advanced sales training are highly preferred.
DAY-TO-DAY
As the Director of Sales, you'll spend your days driving the overall success of a portfolio of hotels by creating and implementing sales strategies tailored to the Point of the Mountain and Silicon Slopes market, identifying new opportunities within corporate, group, and extended-stay segments, analyzing demand trends, and adjusting strategies to maximize occupancy, rate, and revenue performance. You'll partner closely with General Managers and property leaders, coach and mentor sales associates, establish clear goals and accountability measures, support hiring and development efforts, review weekly and monthly sales production reports, evaluate pacing and performance, identify growth opportunities, and share strategic recommendations with leadership. You'll also serve as a visible representative of the portfolio across the Lehi, Draper, and Silicon Slopes business communities, building strong relationships with local businesses, organizations, and key accounts that help drive long-term success.
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time leadership position that requires local travel within the assigned market to visit properties, meet with clients, build community relationships, and support sales initiatives across the portfolio.
ADVANCE YOUR CAREER TODAY!
If you're ready to lead growth, inspire teams, build meaningful business relationships, and make a measurable impact across multiple hotel properties, apply today! Our initial application process is quick, easy, and mobile-friendly!
