Job Summary:
2nd Shift 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM
Completes operations of assigned traffic control/safety projects setting up and taking down lane closures. Takes direction from the prime contractor, as it relates to project work. Performs lane closures on state highways and other roadways. Redirect traffic for workers or survey crews. Work independently or part of a traffic control crew. Assemble, deliver, and pick up safety products from job sites.
Essential Functions:
  • Identify and pull accurate signs for jobs
  • Assembly of signage
  • Complete work orders on Standard set ups and take downs
  • Knowledge and understanding of four standard set ups--lane shift, lane closure, road closure and flagger
  • Ability to drive large trucks and include backing, pulling and positioning trailer equipment
  • Flagging traffic
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, clients and staff, professionally, efficiently and effectively.
  • Understand and read basic traffic control plan
  • Execute work orders by loading trucks with appropriate requirement or checking loaded trucks for requirements.
  • Close work TCR Tickets with indication of return and pick up times
  • Once trained you will be subject to the On-call Rotation.

Education, Experience, Skills and Ability:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Driver's license required
  • One to Two years of Traffic Control experience preferred
  • Flagging certificate, a plus
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certificate, a plus
  • Highly organized, effective communicator
  • Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure
  • Knowledge of personal computers and software
  • Exceptionally strong eye for details
  • Can work effectively independently or as part of a team
  • Handles customer concerns and requests for information in an expeditious and professional manner
  • Proficient with maps and directions

Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work overnight hours
  • Ability to work in heavy manual labor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds for short periods of time
  • Ability to work in all weather for short periods of time
