Job description

Trademark Visual is a leading design/build producer of architectural, commercial and electric signs. Our manufacturing facility is fully equipped to fabricate nearly any sign imaginable, from small apartment unit numbers to 85’ tall freeway pylon signs. Additionally, we employ a full complement of wide format digital printing equipment including UV and latex printers. Our Field Services team is well equipped to service and install any sign we make.

***We are seeking a qualified Pre-Flight Designer to join our team!***

Candidate must have demonstrated 2 years experience in design. This position will be checking on design/artwork and completing production files for general signage and digital print projects such as banners, vehicle graphics, wall wraps, posters, window graphics, real estate signs, etc. as well as for fabricated signage such as ADA, route, monuments, etc.

The environment for this position is largely an office environment but will involve manufacturing plant walkthroughs. This position will report to the Director of Operations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• 2+ years of experience in graphics design and adobe illustrator.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator and Photoshop).

• Experience with CorelDraw a plus.

• Solid grasp of design mechanics.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Dependable, self-motivated and organized.

• Ability to meet deadlines.

• Understanding of sign construction projects, workflows and terminology.

• Excellent problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to read, understand and perform take-offs from blueprints and plans.

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with proficiency in English.

• The knowledge, skills and abilities required to fulfill the following duties:

REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Double-check all callouts, file structure and artwork set-up by the Design Team to ensure all details are accurate based on current information as well as history.

• Reference surveys, if applicable, when processing to confirm details of callouts and measurements.

• Update drawings, if applicable, to ensure accurate information on file for each project.

• Set-up production files for Graphics Department per TMV standards and processes.

• Complete paperwork upon file set-up completion and ensure all paperwork – both physically and electronically – is up to date.

• Discuss specifications with Graphics Department to ensure files are accurate and to TMV capabilities.

• Check against fabrication files and work with others to confirm that the files are completed to match properly.

• Manage workload and ensure that deadlines are met, if not exceeded.

• Communicate with Director of Operations when delay occurs that may alter prioritization of daily activities as well as meeting project due dates.

• Resolve any design and/or files issues and solve problems throughout the project life cycle.

• Work with all Departments, as applicable, to ensure accurate graphics are produced and any questions are addressed in a timely manner to maintain deadline.

• Set-up outsource files for vendors as per each vendor specification.

• Production ready files for printing, vinyl, routers, Accubend, engraver, laser, patterns, and any other processes and machinery involved in the completion of each project, as applicable.

• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation starts at $20-24/hour, based on experience. We offer a full benefits package including health and life insurance, dental, vision as well as a 401K program.
