What We Seek...

We are seeking a detail-oriented Print Estimator to support the growth of Britten's large-format printing and signage business by developing accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for complex client projects. This role partners closely with Client Advisors, Project Managers, Production, Purchasing, and Operations to price high-volume print rollouts, national programs, retail campaigns, and custom signage solutions.


Success in this role comes from balancing speed, accuracy, profitability, and customer responsiveness while helping Britten win profitable business. The ideal candidate thrives in spreadsheets, enjoys solving complex pricing challenges, and can manage multiple high-value bids simultaneously.


Job Summary and Job Functions

  • Prepare detailed estimates for large-format print, signage, graphics, and nationwide rollout projects
  • Analyze customer specifications, bid documents, drawings, and artwork requirements to develop accurate pricing
  • Build and maintain complex pricing spreadsheets for high-volume bid opportunities
  • Collaborate with Client Advisors to develop competitive pricing strategies
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Production, Operations, and Logistics to validate labor, materials, freight, and installation costs
  • Review project scope to identify risks, assumptions, exclusions, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Generate clear customer-facing quotations and supporting documentation
  • Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting aggressive bid deadlines
  • Maintain estimating databases, pricing models, and standard costing information
  • Continuously improve estimating accuracy through post-project cost analysis
  • Support strategic pricing initiatives that maximize profitability while remaining competitive
  • Assist in developing standardized estimating tools and templates

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent estimating experience
  • 3+ years of estimating, pricing, inside sales, or project coordination experience in commercial printing, large-format graphics, signage, manufacturing, or related industries
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and complex spreadsheets
  • Experience preparing high-volume, multi-location, or nationwide project bids
  • Strong mathematical aptitude with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret specifications, construction drawings, and customer requirements
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple bids with competing deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working within CRM and ERP systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
