At Salem Sports, we don't just create graphics-we bring projects to life. Behind every finished product is a detail-oriented design team that accurately updates artwork to specifications and prepares files for production. 

We're looking for a 2D Graphics Designer who is detail-oriented, comfortable working within established specifications, and motivated by seeing designs move from digital files into finished products. This role is responsible for updating, formatting, and preparing graphic materials according to established specifications, templates, and brand standards.


The 2D Graphics Designer works closely with the Design, Client Relationship, and Manufacturing teams to ensure graphics are accurate, production-ready, properly organized, and completed on time. Whether your experience comes from graphic design, print production, signage, prepress, manufacturing, or another production-focused environment, what matters most is your attention to detail, proficiency with design software, ability to follow specifications, and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with Supervisor/Client Relationship Managers to determine project scope
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials from Design Manager
  • Create designs/layouts that maintain tournament and company brand identity
  • Maintain client specific colors, images, text style, and layout for final output
  • Create and maintain brand consistency for client deliverables
  • Communicate project status with relevant personnel
  • Keep apprised of calendar due dates and adhere to calendar deadlines
  • Maintain open communication to allow input from the Design and Manufacturing team on all steps of development process
  • Present the design to Supervisor/Client Relationship Managers
  • Review designs for errors prior to submittal and/or production processes
  • Obtains approval of concept by submitting initial layout for approval
  • Incorporate changes recommended into the final design
  • Maintain file location based on approval and updating change logs
  • Must maintain a validly issued and current driver's license. 
  • Maintain and expand working knowledge of relevant software
  • Meets all assigned goals and assists others in accomplishing their goals
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned


Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Artistic and creative; strong presentation, verbal, visual, and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of production techniques and awareness of timelines
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and application of graphics functions and equipment a +
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment

Education and Work Experience

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Prior relevant work experience in a design capacity required

Expected Hours of Work/Travel: This is a full-time position in the Winston Salem office during regular business hours. Days and hours of work are dictated by the nature of the scope of work which can include long hours and weekend work. May travel to event locations for printing, installation and application of graphics for events.
