Job Overview 
Electric City Signs is seeking an experienced metal fabricator to build commercial signage.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to work on various projects in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a keen attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The fabricator/welder will be responsible for producing high-quality metal signage,  while adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities

  • Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding techniques.
  • Fabricate metal components according to specifications from blueprints and schematics.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters.
  • Perform pipe threading, ductwork assembly, and other fabrication tasks as required.
  • Conduct quality inspections of finished products using calipers and micrometers.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction site projects, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Operate forklifts and cranes for material handling when necessary.
  • Engage in rigging activities for lifting heavy components safely.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience in fabrication and welding within a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication processes.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience with various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately.
  • Knowledge of basic math principles for measurements and calculations in fabrication tasks.
  • Experience with machining processes is a plus.
