The Conservatory at Stephens College is seeking dependable, organized, and customer service-oriented Federal Work Study eligible students to assist with box office operations. This position plays a key role in supporting the front-of-house experience for Conservatory productions, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for patrons. Students will gain valuable experience in ticketing, event logistics, and theatre operations.


Learning Opportunities:

This position provides real-world experience in arts administration, customer service, and theatre front-of-house operations—valuable for students interested in producing, arts management, or public-facing roles in the performing arts industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person support at the box office before and during performances
  • Sell and distribute tickets using the college’s ticketing system (training provided)
  • Assist with box office setup, signage, and patron communications
  • Greet guests, answer questions, and offer exceptional customer service
  • Maintain a professional, organized box office environment
  • Handle cash, credit card, and online transactions accurately
  • Support general front-of-house operations, including ushering and lobby setup
  • Uphold and promote safety, accessibility, and a positive patron experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study and a Conservatory student
  • Professional and courteous communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with the public and problem-solving in real time
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to follow instructions
  • Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for performances

Availability:

  • Applicants must be available a minimum of two days per week for 1pm to 3pm shifts in the box office. Some weekend shifts will be required.
