Job description

Summary
The Maintainence Technician assures that equipment is maintained for maximum available production capacity.
Responsibilities
  • Verifies Preventative Maintenance work orders are properly matched to the equipment in the area.
  • Follow through for accurate Countermeasures on Major Breakdown Reports
  • Ensures adequate spare parts are available
  • Manages any ongoing projects in the department
  • Interacts with Vendors and Contractors for related work in the Department
  • Understanding and implementation of a safe work environment
  • Schedules shutdown work with Planners
  • Assists with creation of One Point Lessons and Standard Operating Procedures for tasks necessary for more efficient repair and troubleshooting
  • Ensures that department is kept in a clean 5s standard
  • Works closely with Maintenance Supervisor on communicating work load and recommended improvements
  • Requires On Call availability

Knowledge and Skills
  • Technical/analytic skills
  • Effective written/oral communication
  • Good working knowledge of computer applications

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • 5-8 years related experience including good working knowledge of PLC's, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and welding equipment.
  • Must have had an effective background in environmental safety and supervision
