Job description

At MISTRAS Services Inc., we are transforming asset protection through industry-leading Advanced Nondestructive Examination (ANDE) services. As a global leader in technology-enabled asset protection solutions, we combine cutting-edge NDE inspection techniques, advanced proprietary software, and top-tier technical expertise to help our clients ensure safety, operational efficiency, and structural integrity across critical infrastructure.

In this role, you will lead high-level ultrasonic inspections on pressure equipment, piping, and structural components. You’ll work with cutting-edge equipment, interpret complex data to industry codes (ASME, API), and produce clean, reliable reports for client site supervision.

Please Note: We are also actively seeking IRATA certified technicians (Level 1+) or experienced PAUT-TOFD candidates willing to complete rope access training. These positions will directly support high-priority Shutdowns, Outages, and upcoming USA project assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and Time-of-Flight Diffraction (TOFD) on welds, vessels, and piping assets.
  • Set up, calibrate, and verify advanced equipment and scanners (e.g., HydroFORM®, FlexoFORM™, Cobra).
  • Collect and interpret A/B/C-scans and TOFD diffraction signals to detect, size, and characterize flaws.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports, data packages, and isometric rollouts per company standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain strict safety standards in accordance with client-specific policies and provincial regulations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Certification: Valid CGSB Level II or III in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) OR ISO 9712 / PCN Level II in PAUT and TOFD. (or equivalent)
  • Experience: 3+ years of active field experience operating PAUT and TOFD equipment.
  • Safety Tickets: CSTS-20, First Aid/CPR, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, and H2S Alive. and/or other client specific training a strong asset but not necessary
  • Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The ideal candidate will also hold a valid passport.

Nice-to-Have Assets

  • Additional CGSB tickets (MT, PT, or RT).
  • Experience with Total Focusing Method (TFM) / Full Matrix Capture (FMC).
  • Performance Demonstration Qualification (PDQ) or specialized pipeline integrity experience.
  • IRATA level 1 or greater or willing to obtain.
