Take your Skills to the Next Shutdown - Now Hiring! Ledcor is hiring Apprentice and Journeyperson Ironworkers to support major shutdowns and turnarounds across Alberta's industrial facilities.
If you excel in high-intensity outage environments where precision, teamwork, and execution speed matter, this is your opportunity to work on critical maintenance scopes that keep operations running. From structural repairs to equipment installations, you'll play a key role in safely completing essential work under tight turnaround timelines.
This is not traditional construction-it's fast-paced, short-duration shutdown work requiring adaptability, focus, and a strong safety mindset.

Essential Responsibilities:

Execute shutdown and turnaround scopes including structural repairs, steel installation, retrofits, and equipment setting

Perform rigging, hoisting, and alignment of structural components and mechanical equipment

Complete bolt-up, torquing, and connection work to meet outage specifications

Interpret drawings, blueprints, and work packages to ensure accurate execution

Support critical path work while adapting to shifting priorities and tight timelines

Work within permit systems, lift plans, and safety procedures including LOTO requirements

Maintain productivity and quality during extended shifts and compressed outage schedules

Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Qualifications:

Registered Apprentice or Journeyperson Ironworker certification

Experience in shutdowns, turnarounds, or outage maintenance in oil & gas or heavy industrial environments

Strong skills in rigging, structural steel installation, and equipment setting

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Experience working in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments

Willingness to work 10-12+ hour shifts, overtime, and consecutive days during shutdowns

Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork

Working Conditions:
