The short version
We install flooring in the food plants that make the brands in your fridge. The work is hard, physical, and travel-heavy, and we pay for every bit of it: $24/hr to start, $50 a day per diem on the road, paid travel, double pay on holidays worked, and 100% of your individual health and dental premium covered (after 90 days). Plus a $1,000 first-year bonus that starts paying at 30 days. We're a family-first company that promotes from within. The people running our crews and our company started exactly where you would.
Who we are
SaniCrete is a family-owned company based in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. Since 1990 we've manufactured and installed flooring systems for food and beverage processing plants nationwide. We don't use subcontractors. Our own crews do every install, our systems are down in millions of square feet nationwide, and we stand behind the work with a 5-year warranty. When a plant needs a full production floor replaced over a weekend shutdown, we're the crew that gets it done.
What you'll do
The work is hands-on and different at every plant. New guys start typically with hand grinders, running buckets, or in the mix station. Other responsibilities may include:
• Tear-out and demo work, including jackhammering and hauling debris
• Surface prep with grinders and prep equipment
• Mixing urethane cement and epoxy and keeping material moving to the installers
• Hauling buckets and bags, staging material and equipment
• Cleanup and site protection
• Loading, driving, and unloading trucks and trailers (no CDL required)
You'll earn your stripes on the buckets and the grinder before you run a trowel. Every installer here did.
No coatings experience? If you've done concrete, construction, or other real trade work and you show up ready to learn, we train you on our systems.
What you get
• $24/hr to start. The raise isn't automatic, but most team members who show up on time, work hard, and do quality work earn at least $1/hr more at their 90-day review.
• $1,000 first-year bonus: $250 at 30 days, $250 at 6 months, $500 at 1 year
• $50/day per diem on travel days, paid weekly
• Paid travel and hotel covered on the road
• Hours run with the project schedule, not a 9 to 5. Busy stretches bring overtime at 1.5x, slower weeks bring shop time, and holidays worked pay 2x, or 2.5x on overtime.
• Health and dental with 100% of your individual premium paid by SaniCrete, eligible after 90 days
• PTO, a year-end bonus, a full uniform kit on day one, a quarterly boot allowance, and all PPE and tools supplied
• Steady year-round work.
• A real path up: mix station to installer to lead to foreman.
The honest part
We want you to know exactly what you're signing up for, because this job is a lifestyle and it fits some people great and others not at all.
• The travel is real. Projects are nationwide and trips typically run from 4 days to a month at a time. The hotel is covered (you'll typically room with a teammate), and the per diem and paid travel exist because we ask a lot here.
• We work when plants are dark, and hours fluctuate. Nights, weekends, and holiday shutdowns are our busiest times, and week-to-week hours run with the project schedule.
• It's hard physical work. Jackhammers, grinders, buckets of material, hot rooms, cold rooms, long shifts.
• We run professional crews. On time, drug free, uniformed, sharp in front of customers. It's a big part of why plants keep inviting us back, and why the work stays steady year round.

What we need from you
• Valid driver's license with a clean 3-year record, comfortable driving trucks with trailers on long hauls
• Reliable transportation to our Whitmore Lake shop before and after travel assignments
• Physically able to handle demanding labor for full shifts
• Ability to travel from 4 days to a month at a time
• Coatings, concrete, or trade experience preferred but not required. Work ethic is.
