Job description

Forward Deployed Software Engineer - NYC

New York, NY

Forward Deployed Software Engineer — US / NYCAbout Indicium AI

Indicium AI was Anthropic’s first European launch partner, a Preferred Anthropic Partner, and sits among a handful of organizations globally trusted to deploy Claude at an enterprise scale. Named the2026 Databricks Consulting Partner of the Year and backed by Databricks Ventures, we build and deploy production AI systems for complex enterprises, making AI a genuine competitive advantage.

The Role

AI is overhauling how software gets built. As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you are the technical and commercial anchor for our expansion into the US market. Based in New York, you will help establish Indicium AI's presence in the US by embedding directly within tier-one client engineering organizations to transform their developer experience, modernize SDLC workflows, and co-engineer production systems. Flexible remote work is supported during build-focused and off-client periods.

This is a player-coach role requiring hands‑on engineering mastery, executive credibility with CTOs and VPs of Engineering, and the commercial instinct to turn initial delivery wins into expanded US accounts. While you lead client engagements, you are never on an island: you are backed by specialized delivery pods, direct leadership access, and deep technical integration with Anthropic field teams.

What You Will Do

Lead AI‑Native Transformation: Audit enterprise workflows and design target architectures leveraging Anthropic models, Claude Code, custom MCP servers, agentic tooling, and automated CI/CD pipelines.

Co‑Engineer in Production: Embed alongside client teams and Anthropic technical teams to refactor codebases and roll out AI‑augmented practices directly in live pipelines.

Establish & Scale US Accounts: Serve as the trusted technical partner for US executive stakeholders, driving local market growth by using successful delivery to spot new high‑value enterprise problems.

Scale Practice Playbooks: Codify patterns, tools, and best practices from US engagements to expand Indicium AI's global playbook and mentor client champion developers.

What We Are Looking For

Proven Scope of Ownership: Track record of independently owning complex technical delivery and influencing executive stakeholders (CTOs, VPs of Engineering).

Hands‑On Production Depth: Strong background shipping production systems in Python, TypeScript, or Java across modern cloud stacks (AWS, Azure, GCP).

AI‑Native Fluent: Active daily user of tools like Claude Code, Copilot, or agentic frameworks.

Commercial Mindset: Ability to identify high‑value enterprise problems, establish trusted client relationships, and help drive US market expansion.

Accelerators: Domain depth in Financial Services, Energy, or Healthcare; hands‑on MCP server development; or prior experience in DevEx / FDE roles.

Why Indicium AI

Deep Anthropic Partnership: Work at the bleeding edge as a Preferred Anthropic Partner, with direct access to partner teams, official training, and early access to unreleased capabilities.

High Autonomy Culture: Sharp, high‑agency teams with no middle‑management layers or corporate theater.

Frontier‑Level L&D: Generous learning budget, dedicated research time, and unencumbered access to state‑of‑the‑art AI tools.

Top‑Tier Benefits: Competitive pay with performance bonuses, comprehensive health coverage, generous PTO, flexible holidays, parental leave, and a paid company shutdown the last week of December.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $240,000. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. An individual's final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including geographic location, experience, specialized skills, and qualifications. This compensation range is subject to updates or modifications at the company’s discretion

As set forth in Indicium AI’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy,we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected group status under any applicable law.
