Pay Rate: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Location: Decatur, Alabama
Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Maintenance Supervisors to join our team in Decatur, Alabama. This is a temp-to-hire role for our manufacturing client. This role combines hands-on maintenance responsibilities with team leadership, spending approximately 70% of the time performing technical maintenance work and 30% on supervisory and administrative duties.
The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience, the ability to troubleshoot and repair 480V electrical systems, experience with Sloan plumbing fixtures, and a proven background leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coordinate, and support daily activities of maintenance personnel.
  • Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance and equipment repairs.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair 480V electrical equipment and systems.
  • Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance, including Sloan valve systems and related fixtures.
  • Maintain and repair a variety of manufacturing equipment, including:
    • CNC Machines
    • Laser Cutting Machines
    • Punch Presses
    • Turrets
    • Lathes
    • Welding Equipment
    • Sandblasting Equipment
    • Powder Coat Paint Lines
    • Overhead Doors
  • Utilize crane experience when supporting equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate the sourcing of replacement parts, maintenance supplies, and outside contractors when needed.
  • Train and mentor maintenance team members in technical skills and safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and computerized maintenance documentation.
  • Install, start up, and shut down equipment in accordance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ensure maintenance areas remain organized, clean, and safe.
  • Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Communicate maintenance status, priorities, and project updates to the Operations Manager.
  • Work overtime as needed to support production requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair 480V electrical systems.
  • Experience with Sloan plumbing systems and general industrial plumbing repairs.
  • Experience maintaining manufacturing and production equipment.
  • Crane experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work beneath machinery and at elevated heights when performing repairs.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Ability to safely perform maintenance work around operating machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Must possess sufficient visual and manual dexterity to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment.
