Job description

Status: Full-time, on site
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Location: Canyon Cabinetry & Design Showroom, Tucson, AZ

Canyon Cabinetry & Design is a growing Tucson studio, and we are adding key members to the team. We work from a nearly 7,500 square foot showroom with an on-site workshop, offering exclusive, elevated product and curated design that brings each client’s vision to life. We deliver a complete turnkey path — design, cabinetry, and installation — under one roof. Customer service is paramount. It is not a slogan. It is the standard we bring into the room every day, alongside a clear expectation of excellence and quality in the work and in how we treat clients, vendors, and one another.

Position summary
The Accountant / Office Manager is responsible for the financial operations and office administration of the studio. This includes accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash-flow visibility, timely client invoicing, timely vendor payments, and overall office operations.

Accountant duties

  • Issue invoices on the project milestone schedule: design retainers, deposits, progress billings, and final balances
  • Manage collections and AR aging; escalate past-due accounts to ownership promptly
  • Enter, code, and pay vendor bills on agreed terms; match bills to POs or receiving documents where applicable
  • Maintain a weekly pay / hold / question list so vendor payments do not stall
  • Prepare and update a rolling cash-flow view for ownership
  • Reconcile bank and credit-card accounts
  • Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
  • Track project deposits and prevent production or install release when required funds are missing
  • Prepare a monthly package: profit and loss, AR aging, AP aging, cash position, and exception notes
  • Coordinate with the outside CPA on sales tax, year-end, and source documents
  • Maintain 1099 records, W-9s, insurance certificates, and vendor payment terms
  • Process refunds, credit memos, and deposit applications with a complete record

Office manager duties

  • Own office operations: supplies, filing systems, equipment, mail, and office vendors
  • Keep licenses, insurance policies, contracts, and corporate records organized and current
  • Confirm that sold jobs have a matching deposit invoice and that Houzz Pro and the accounting system agree
  • Work with the Client Experience / Project Coordinator so vendor bills are coded to the correct job
  • Process new hire background screenings and onboarding
  • Prepare materials requested by ownership for CPA, insurance, lender, or internal meetings
  • Support implementation of the employee handbook and office procedures
  • Protect confidentiality of pricing, payroll, personnel, and owner discussions

Core skills

  • Small-business accounting across AR, AP, payroll, cash flow, and monthly reporting
  • QuickBooks and Excel
  • Construction experience desired
  • Customer service and professional communication
  • Discretion and reliability
