Job Summary:
The Showroom Supervisor is responsible for leading the showroom team, actively supporting customers through the sales and product selection process, and overseeing day-to-day showroom operations under the direction of the Branch Manager. This position supports showroom sales, margin, profitability, and customer service goals while ensuring a positive and professional customer experience.
The Showroom Supervisor develops a knowledgeable, customer-focused team through training, coaching, ongoing feedback, and employee development and makes sound day-to-day business decisions with consideration for the financial performance of the showroom.
Essential Functions:
  • Lead and oversee day-to-day showroom operations and provide direction and support to showroom associates.
  • Support the achievement of established showroom sales, margin, and profitability goals by monitoring performance and communicating trends, opportunities, and concerns to the Branch Manager.
  • Oversee day-to-day showroom activities with consideration for payroll, staffing, purchases, displays, operating expenses, margins, and overall P amp;L performance.
  • Assist customers with the design and selection of plumbing products, and other related products, as needed.
  • Train, coach, and develop showroom associates in customer service, selling techniques, product knowledge, company processes, and performance expectations.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and address employee performance or conduct concerns in coordination with the Branch Manager and Human Resources, as appropriate.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training showroom associates in coordination with the Branch Manager and Human Resources.
  • Coordinate showroom staff scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage, accurate timekeeping, and responsible management of payroll costs.
  • Ensure customers receive a consistent, professional, and solutions-focused showroom experience and assist with escalated or exceptional customer situations as needed.
  • Lead the showroom team in executing company initiatives, sales programs, promotions, and established priorities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and visually appealing showroom, including coordinating and maintaining product displays, merchandising, and signage.
  • Identify and communicate customer, product, and sales trends and recommend opportunities to improve showroom performance, profitability, product offerings, and the customer experience.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with designers, contractors, builders, architects, and other industry professionals to support showroom sales and customer relationships.
  • Support approved marketing initiatives and coordinate showroom participation in special events and promotional activities, including trade shows, home shows, and other industry or community events, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager and other branch teams to support customer needs and effective overall branch operations.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety standards and adhere to company policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager.
Work Experience and Competencies:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build relationships and effectively resolve customer concerns.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling strategies and solution-based selling techniques.
  • Experience supporting sales goals and identifying opportunities to grow sales, improve margins, and enhance overall showroom performance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of sales, gross margin, payroll, operating expenses, and P amp;L fundamentals, with the ability to use financial information to support sound day-to-day business decisions.
  • Ability to effectively manage staffing, scheduling, and operational priorities while remaining mindful of payroll and other controllable expenses.
  • Previous experience in the kitchen and bath, plumbing, home dรฉcor, or related industry preferred.
  • Strong product knowledge or demonstrated ability to develop technical expertise in company products and applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to identify trends and opportunities and effectively communicate recommendations to the Branch Manager.
  • Professional demeanor with demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Branch Manager, other branch departments, vendors, and company leadership.
  • Working knowledge of Eclipse ERP or demonstrated ability to effectively utilize ERP systems in daily business operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret applicable drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Teams).
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory or relevant leadership experience is preferred.
Physical Capabilities:
This position requires an employee to be able to sit for between four to six hours per eight to ten hour day. It also requires an employee to be able to perform a combination of standing, walking, and driving for approximately one to four hours based on job responsibilities. The employee must possess the physical ability to continuously, frequently, or occasionally use both upper extremities for repetitive tasks for simple grasping with either hand. Up to 33% of the time, this role requires the ability to perform a variety of physical movements, including bending at the waist, squatting, climbing, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, crawling, and operating foot controls depending on occupational demands. Additionally, the employee must be capable of lifting and carrying materials of 10 lbs. maximum weight including small objects.
