Job description

Summary
Performs related duties of a classroom teacher to provide continuity in the day-to-day responsibilities during the absence of the regular employee. Note: Substitute employees are employed on an as needed, on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis. There are no benefits associated with substitute employment
Essential Duties
  • Manages classroom and provides instructions according to plans as prepared by the classroom teacher
  • Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area
  • Accounts for student attendance and punctuality
  • Uses appropriate behavior management strategies
  • Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
  • Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities
  • Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
