Position Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the communication, routing, and distribution of equipment. It also provides leadership and direction to the dispatch team, ensuring smooth daily operations and meeting departmental production goals.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 
•    Oversee departmental productivity, efficiency, and overall management. 
•    Provide direct support to all dispatchers, ensuring operational consistency. 
•    Report daily metrics including load count, special projects, and driver dispatch status. 
•    Manage escalations from both internal and external customers, resolving issues promptly. 
•    Collaborate with the shop to maximize the number of road-ready trucks. 
•    Monitor and manage availability for same-day and next-day service requests. 
•    Lead a team responsible for coordinating driver routes for pickups and drop-offs. 
•    Respond swiftly and effectively to customer and employee concerns. 
•    Ensure accurate documentation of all dispatch activities including pickups and drop-offs. 
•    Implement and oversee new policies, procedures, and departmental changes. 
•    Track dispatcher performance and provide regular feedback. 
•    Prepare weekly and monthly reports on team efficiency and operational outcomes.
•    Lead a team of drivers ensuring on-time deliveries and that all safety regulations are followed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
(REQUIRED/PREFERRED)
•    Associate’s degree or equivalent from a technical school, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience/training; a combination of education and experience will also be considered 
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in dispatch or transportation management 
•    Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a team of three or more employees 
•    Strong customer service orientation with excellent organizational and communication skills 
•    Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 
•    Working knowledge of DOT regulations, safety protocols, HR practices, compliance standards, and basic finance 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
•    Committed to supporting the safe operation of the company, including drivers, helpers, shop personnel, and management staff
