Job description

As a Rental/CCE Sales Representative, you will build and maintain strong customer relationships while driving profitable rental and Compact Construction Equipment (CCE) sales within an assigned territory. You will identify new business opportunities, provide equipment solutions that meet customer needs, and help grow market share through a proactive, customer-focused sales approach.
What You Will Do in This Role:
  • Grow rental revenue, equipment sales, and market share within your assigned territory.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, jobsite visits, referrals, and market research.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Compact Construction Equipment (CCE), work tools, rental offerings, features, benefits, and applications to provide customers with the best solutions.
  • Research upcoming construction projects using industry resources such as Dodge, PEC, REED, and UCC reports to identify sales opportunities and customer buying trends.
  • Develop an understanding of construction processes and project timelines to anticipate customer equipment needs.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive equipment offerings, and pricing strategies to effectively position Foley Equipment solutions.
  • Develop customer-focused proposals, quotations, financing and leasing options, warranties, and service offerings.
  • Prepare and complete sales, rental, and service agreements while ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
  • Partner with internal teams, including sales management, rental operations, service, and support personnel, to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Analyze territory performance, develop sales strategies, and execute plans to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, opportunities, and quotes using CRM systems.
  • Manage sales-related expenses and administrative responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Respond to and qualify inbound leads while ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Represent Foley Equipment professionally at customer events, trade shows, sales meetings, and training opportunities.
  • Stay current on industry trends, equipment technology, and market developments to better serve customers and drive business growth.
  • Travel as required for training or to support other locations

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous outside sales experience, preferably in equipment, rental, construction, or a related industry.
  • Proven ability to prospect, generate leads, and confidently make cold calls to develop new business opportunities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence customer decisions.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and long-term relationship management.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems to manage customer interactions, sales opportunities, and pipeline activity.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and effectively use company software and technology platforms.
  • Ability to prepare and complete sales quotes, proposals, contracts, and related sales documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of equipment sales, rentals, construction applications, and industry trends is preferred.
  • Understanding of financing, leasing, and other purchasing options to help customers make informed buying decisions.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, forecasting, and territory sales planning.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach to achieving sales goals.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and support personnel.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional industry-related education or training is a plus.
  • Ability to drive and valid driver's license required.

  • Strong knowledge of the construction industry, including equipment applications, jobsite operations, and various phases of the construction process.
  • Hands-on construction industry experience with the ability to understand customer challenges and recommend effective equipment solutions.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus and will help support a diverse customer base.
