Job Summary

Church & Dwightisseekinga Manager, Category & Shopper Insights (Home Care) to join our team.The Manager, Category & Shopper Insights is responsible for leading strategic initiatives and the creation and execution of SBU category platforms with our focus Customers. This role will utilize advanced analytical capabilities, market research and insights, and executional tools to elevate our influence with both internal and external customers.

About the Role

The Manager, Category & Shopper Insights will work with brand teams, Sales Strategy, key account sales teams, and their respective retailers to develop, lead, and communicate fact-based analysis and insights in their respective category (s) to help drive C&D and category topline sales objectives.

This role reports directly to the VP Commercial Strategy, Sales Operations.

Work Environment

Hybrid: This is a hybrid role based in Ewing, NJ and requires in-person attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Proactively develops collaborative relationships with our cross-functional teams to be viewed as a trusted resource for category insights and objective growth opportunities

  • Proactively builds insights to help educate and influence marketing and sales strategy at an internal organizational level

  • Effectively communicate category management insights within internal C&D organization, and category management department, not in violation of confidentiality agreements with our customers

  • Actively leads and participates in preparation of line reviews and re-occurring Customer Category reviews, JBP plans, and Top to Top meetings

  • Monitor competitive activity and recommend solutions to meet/counter competitive threats to business

  • Leads comprehensive understanding of POG/Merchandising insights and assortment to help identify and drive strategic sales opportunities and customer growth objectives

  • Advanced utilization of Tools and Insights to Enable Execution: Custom research, Circana and customer POS, Loyalty Card, Panel, Shopper Insights, Assortment, and POG tools to deliver unique insights

The Manager, Category & Shopper Insights role will be evaluated on the following KPIs:

  • Creation of Category Platforms

  • Activation of Category Platforms by Top 10 Customers

  • Category share growth selling stories and customer line-review support

  • Increased distribution share growth or share of shelf growth

  • Timely and complete delivery of one project (CSD) to benefit the broader Commercial organization.

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

  • 8+ years of experience in the CPG industry required

  • 5+ years in a Shopper Insights/Category Management role in the CPG industry required

  • Nielsen and/or Circana syndicated data experience is required

  • Advanced Analytical capabilities are required

  • Loyalty card experience is also a plus

Compensation and Benefits

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is$110,900-$157,900

This position is also eligible for a bonus.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
