Job description

Location: In-Office (Beaverton, OR)
Company: Forix

Forix is looking for an Ecommerce Project Manager who can help lead client relationships, manage web development work, and keep projects moving across strategy, scope, budget, timeline, and execution.

This role is not just about tracking tasks. We need someone who can understand what a client is trying to accomplish, translate that into clear direction for internal teams, follow up when things drift, and make sure the work we are doing still supports the client’s business goals.

The right person is fast, organized, curious, and comfortable switching between different clients, projects, platforms, and priorities throughout the day. You do not need to be a developer, but you do need to be able to learn web and ecommerce concepts quickly, ask smart questions, and know when to escalate technical issues instead of getting stuck.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage ecommerce and web development projects from request intake through delivery
  • Communicate directly with clients, developers, designers, QA, and internal stakeholders
  • Turn client requests into clear tickets, scopes, action items, and next steps
  • Keep projects moving by following up, removing blockers, and escalating issues when needed
  • Help clients prioritize work based on business value, urgency, risk, and budget
  • Track timelines, estimates, approvals, and open decisions
  • Prepare agendas, meeting notes, status updates, and client-facing summaries
  • Identify when a request needs more discovery, technical review, UX input, or change control
  • Keep client goals in view, not just individual tasks
  • Support long-term account health by spotting risks, opportunities, and recurring needs

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience managing digital, ecommerce, web, software, or technical projects
  • Strong client communication skills, especially when priorities, scope, or timelines are unclear
  • Ability to switch context quickly across multiple clients and active workstreams
  • Comfort working with technical teams and learning unfamiliar systems
  • Strong follow-through and a habit of circling back on open items
  • Ability to simplify complex topics for clients and internal teams
  • Good judgment about when to solve, when to ask questions, and when to escalate
  • Strategic thinking around client goals, business outcomes, and project value
  • High ownership, strong organization, and attention to detail
  • Calm, clear communication under pressure

Helpful Experience

  • Ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento / Adobe Commerce, or WooCommerce
  • Web development agency experience
  • Jira, Asana, ClickUp, Monday, or similar project management tools
  • Working with designers, developers, QA teams, and technical leads
  • Writing scopes, estimates, requirements, tickets, or acceptance criteria
  • Managing retainers, support clients, or multiple accounts at once
  • Experience with integrations, ERPs, CRMs, shipping, tax, analytics, or marketing tools

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

You are successful in this role if clients trust you, internal teams know what needs to happen next, and important details do not fall through the cracks.

You should be able to hear a messy client request and turn it into a clear next step. You should be able to tell when something is a simple task, when it needs deeper discovery, and when it could create risk for the client or the project. You should be curious enough to learn the technology, but practical enough to escalate when technical depth is needed.

This role requires someone who can manage the task list while also asking, “Does this still solve the client’s actual problem?”

This Role Is Probably a Fit If You

  • Learn new tools and systems quickly
  • Like working with both people and details
  • Can move between strategy and execution
  • Are comfortable asking direct questions
  • Follow up without needing to be reminded
  • Can keep clients calm and informed
  • Know how to push work forward without creating chaos
  • Enjoy making complicated things clearer
