Job description

Location: Downtown Napa

Seasonal Full-Time· September–December · $30/hour

30–40 hours per week (available on weekends)

Napa Sonoma Supply is hiring an experienced Customer Experience & Sales Associate for our downtown Napa retail store.

This is more than a traditional retail job. You'll be the primary point of contact for many of our customers — helping shoppers in the store, taking gift basket orders by phone and email, tracking shipments, resolving concerns, and making sure every interaction reflects well on us. During the holidays you'll often be running the store on your own, with management available and checking in regularly. We need someone who takes ownership, solves problems, stays steady when things get busy, and knows when to ask for help.

What You'll Do

In the store

  • Welcome and assist customers, and create a warm, personal shopping experience
  • Help shoppers choose gourmet products, Napa Valley wine gifts, and gift baskets
  • Answer product and pricing questions and make thoughtful recommendations
  • Process purchases and payments accurately in our POS system

Orders and customer service

  • Serve as our primary customer contact by phone, email, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Take and process gift basket orders in Shopify for local delivery and nationwide shipping
  • Handle custom and corporate gift orders
  • Answer order status, tracking, delivery, credit, and replacement questions — including working with shipping carriers when needed — and follow up until every issue is fully resolved
  • Keep customer records, orders, and shipping information accurate in Shopify

Who You Are

  • Strong customer service experience, and you genuinely enjoy helping people
  • Comfortable with customers in person, on the phone, over email, and on social media
  • Excellent computer skills; you pick up new systems quickly
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, and able to juggle several priorities at once
  • Self-directed — you take initiative and solve problems rather than waiting to be told
  • A clear, professional writer and speaker
  • Dependable, punctual, and steady under pressure
  • Available on weekends
  • Speaks English
  • Can lift at least 30lbs

Helpful Experience

Not required, but a plus: Shopify · retail sales · e-commerce customer service · gift baskets or specialty food · shipping and order tracking · corporate gifting · Canva or basic graphic design · Napa Valley wine and gourmet products

The Details

Location: Downtown Napa

Pay: $30/hour

Schedule: Full-time, 30–40 hours per week, September through December — our busiest and most energetic stretch of the year

Availability: Available on weekends.

Potential: Seasonal, with the possibility of becoming a longer-term role for an exceptional employee

How to Apply

  • Send your resume along with a short note about your customer service experience, why you'd be a great fit for Napa Sonoma Supply, and your availability from September through January. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and become an important part of our holiday team.
