POSITION SUMMARY
The District Manager serves as the primary operational leader for multiple CardVault retail locations, directly overseeing all Store Managers within the assigned district. This is a high-impact, highly visible leadership role responsible for driving consistent sales performance, operational excellence, and brand standards across multiple stores simultaneously. The District Manager acts as the critical link between store-level operations and senior leadership, translating company vision into day-to-day execution, coaching and developing Store Managers.This role requires significant travel between locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Representative but not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned as the business evolves.
Leadership & People Management
• Directly oversee, coach, and develop all Store Managers within the assigned district; serve as their primary point of escalation and support.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and development conversations with Store Managers to build a high-performing district team.
• Partner with HR and the Director of Operations on hiring, onboarding, discipline, and succession planning for Store Manager roles.
• Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement across all district locations.
• Identify and develop internal talent pipelines; prepare high-potential team members for advancement.
• Ensure consistent communication of company expectations, policies, and procedures across all stores.
• Responsible for assisting with store launch and employee training for any new store that opens within assigned district.
Sales Performance & Business Results
• Drive district-wide sales results by setting clear performance expectations, analyzing trends, and implementing targeted action plans.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) - including sales volume, conversion rates, average transaction value, and shrink - across all locations.
• Identify underperforming stores and develop corrective plans in partnership with Store Managers and senior leadership.
• Leverage retail metrics and Shopify reporting to make data-informed decisions on staffing, inventory, and promotional strategy.
• Ensure all locations meet or exceed sales goals, margin targets, and customer satisfaction benchmarks.
Operations & Standards
• Conduct regular store visits across the district to audit operations, brand standards, visual merchandising, and customer experience.
• Ensure all stores maintain safe, secure, and compliant facility environments in accordance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
• Oversee cash handling procedures, opening/closing compliance, and loss prevention protocols across all locations.
• Minimize shrinkage district-wide by identifying patterns, reinforcing security standards, and implementing loss reduction strategies.
• Coordinate with the Director of Inventory & Logistics on inventory management, stock levels, and product flow across district locations.
• Ensure all stores maintain necessary licenses, permits, and compliance documentation.
Product & Brand Knowledge
• Maintain deep knowledge of CardVault's collectible trading card product categories, authentication standards, and market trends.
• Ensure Store Managers and their teams are trained and current on product knowledge, authentication processes, and collector community trends.
Customer Experience
• Ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction across all district locations by setting and enforcing experience standards.
• Review and act on customer feedback, complaints, and escalations at the district level; support Store Managers in resolving customer issues.
• Partner with Store Managers to build and maintain relationships with key collectors and preferred patrons at each location.
Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as the primary communication between district Store Managers and CardVault's senior leadership and operational teams.
• Provide regular district performance reports, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-4 years of retail management experience required, multi-unit management preferred. (collectible or, specialty retail strongly preferred)
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred.
• A comprehensive knowledge of sports and/or trading cards
• Strong people leadership skills with demonstrated ability to recruit, coach, develop, and hold accountable a team.
• Excellent business acumen with the ability to analyze retail metrics and translate data into actionable strategies.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; ability to act decisively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and retail business systems; Shopify experience a strong plus.
• Exceptional communication skills: written and verbal with the ability to influence across all levels of an organization.
• Ability to travel regularly between district locations; valid driver's license required.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.

• Extended use of computer, phone, and video conferencing tools for communication and reporting.
• Non-standard hours are a regular expectation including evenings, weekends, and holidays required based on district needs and store schedules.
