Enviro-Tech Systems is seeking a dependable, hardworking Shop Helper to support the fabrication, assembly, and preparation of industrial water-treatment equipment.

Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Assist with the fabrication and assembly of water-treatment equipment, tanks, piping, skids, and related components.
  • Gather, move, stage, and organize materials, parts, tools, and equipment for shop projects.
  • Clean, grind, deburr, and prepare metal and plastic components for fabrication and assembly.
  • Assist with basic cutting, drilling, measuring, fitting, and fastening tasks under supervision.
  • Support welders, fabricators, pipefitters, assemblers, and other shop personnel as directed.
  • Load and unload materials, deliveries, equipment, and finished products safely.
  • Package completed equipment and parts for shipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, aisles, tools, and storage locations.
  • Perform general shop housekeeping, including sweeping, scrap removal, and proper waste disposal.
  • Inspect tools and equipment before use and promptly report damaged tools, defects, or unsafe conditions.
  • Follow supervisor direction, work instructions, shop drawings, and company safety procedures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and maintain awareness of surrounding shop operations.
  • Assist with inventory counts and notify supervisors when materials or shop supplies are running low.
  • Perform additional shop, production, and warehouse duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, construction, mechanical, or general labor experience is helpful, but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn hands-on trade skills.
  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Basic measuring skills, including the ability to accurately use a tape measure.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently when needed and collaborate effectively with a shop team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, productive, and organized workplace.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fabrication, welding, assembly, manufacturing, construction, or industrial shop environment.
  • Familiarity with common shop tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and measuring equipment.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical drawings, shop prints, or work orders.
  • Experience handling pipe, steel, stainless steel, PVC, pumps, valves, fittings, or industrial components.
  • Forklift or overhead-crane experience or certification.
  • Interest in growing into fabrication, welding, pipefitting, maintenance, or equipment-assembly roles.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb, and work in a variety of physical positions.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds; lifting equipment or assistance will be used for heavier items.
  • Ability to work safely around machinery, hand tools, power tools, noise, dust, and changing shop temperatures.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.
