Job description

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking Helpers to join our manufacturing shop in High Point, North Carolina. This position is available on first shift. This role encompasses a wide variety of skills depending on the department where you are placed. For example, you may assist other employees with cleaning, operating machinery, welding, plumbing/pipefitting, ductwork, carpentry, or electrical work. EAS offers employees opportunities to learn valuable skilled trades and to grow their career paths.

Schedule: 6:00am-4:30pm with OT as necessary
Location: High Point, NC 27263
Responsibilities:
  • Assist other trades employees in your department as directed (e.g. Welders, Pipefitters, Electricians, etc.)
  • Handle material
  • Use power tools (e.g. circular saw, drill, reciprocating saw, etc.)
  • Work safely and adhere to all safety rules and policies
  • Work in a fast-paced team environment

Education Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.
  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment preferred

Job Requirements/Special Skills:
  • Ability to speak and read either English or Spanish required
  • Ability to read a tape measure required
  • Ability to read blueprints preferred
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and climb ladders throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
