Job description

POSITION: Spray-Cooled Shop Foreman

LOCATION: Crawfordsville, IN

Pay: Up to $45/Hour

The Systems Group is looking for an energetic individual to be our next Shop Foreman. We are looking for someone to help with the day-to-day issues that pop up but to also be part of the big picture and contribute to the long-term strategy of our operations across the country. The person that we select for this position must believe in that mission and be committed to the success of our Spray-Cooled Crawfordsville Team, which is a key component of our overall business.

Shop Foreman Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 8+ welders/fabricators rebuilding heavy industrial equipment
  • Work directly to train introductory personnel to excel at their craft.
  • Coordinate with customers for equipment tracking, rebuild schedules, and change out dates
  • Track supply and material inventory
  • Ensure team members are following safe work practices while keeping shop in safe working condition
  • Document Daily progress
  • Monitor completed work for quality standards
  • Conduct equipment inspections before releasing equipment back into service

Shop Foreman Skills:

  • Must be prepared to handle emergency repairs
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Must be able to multi-task – oversee multiple projects at one time
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with the shop employees to assure that the shop runs as efficiently as possible

Experience and Requirements:

  • Knowledge of MIG/Fluxcore structural welding required
  • Knowledge of Air Carbon – Arc Gouging (CAC-A), Oxy/Gas cutting, and grinding operations
  • Minimum 4 years of Supervisory Experience
  • Several years of experience in a fabrication shop is required
  • OSHA Approved Met-Guard boots (annual company allowance provided)
  • Must be able to weld and pass qualification test coupons during the pre-employment test
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
