Shop Production Technician

Butte Fence | Idaho

Full-Time

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional Saturdays

Shop Manager

Position Summary

Butte Fence is looking for a dependable, hardworking Shop Production Technician to join our team in Meridian. This is a hands-on shop position that helps prepare, fabricate, and package fence materials for our installation teams.

The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with tools, materials, and a team that values honesty, hard work, humility, hunger, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Cut, route, and prepare vinyl fence materials according to job requirements.
  • Safely operate shop equipment, including routers, saws, tape measures, and other basic tools.
  • Accurately measure, organize, and prepare materials for production and installation.
  • Properly pack orders, including shrink wrapping, banding, and staging materials.
  • Follow company procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the shop.
  • Support the shop team with general production and material handling needs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Shop Manager.
QualificationsRequired
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a shop or production environment.
  • Basic math and measuring skills.
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and contribute to a positive team environment.
Preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of previous warehouse, shop, manufacturing, or production experience.
  • Previous forklift experience.
  • Experience using basic hand tools, saws, routers, or similar equipment.
Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity in a shop environment. The employee must be able to:

  • Regularly lift, carry, push, or move materials weighing 10 to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally move heavier materials with assistance, team lifting, or appropriate equipment.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform hands-on work throughout the workday.
  • Work safely around tools, equipment, and materials in a manufacturing/shop setting.
