Job Summary:
The Designer is responsible for transforming conceptual designs, architectural plans, and customer requirements into accurate construction documents, BIM models, and shop drawings. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Project Managers, Architects, Vendors, and Customers to develop design solutions, coordinate building information models, prepare project submittals, and support successful project execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a collaborative environment. This job can be remote but will need to work PST hours.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Design & Drafting

  • Develop detailed construction documents, BIM models, shop drawings, and layouts using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other computer-aided design software.

  • Transform preliminary concepts, customer input, and architectural plans into accurate, buildable drawings and models.

  • Produce shop drawings that meet company standards, project specifications, and department procedures.

  • Review and coordinate shop drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.

  • Select and coordinate colors, finishes, fixtures, and product options that meet both functional and aesthetic project requirements.

BIM Coordination
  • Ensure compliance with project BIM Execution Plans and established BIM standards.

  • Develop, coordinate, publish, and verify model configurations to ensure seamless integration between design and construction information.

  • Attend weekly BIM coordination meetings.

  • Model one or multiple building disciplines as required by project scope.

  • Help improve department standards by developing and maintaining Revit families, details, templates, and modeling configurations.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Drafting, Architecture, Construction Technology, Interior Design, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two or more years of drafting, design, or BIM experience in the construction, architectural, or related industry.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and other design software.

  • Experience with Revit family creation, BIM coordination, model management, and clash detection preferred.

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, architectural plans, shop drawing development, and industry standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction industry.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to foster positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with coworkers, customers, vendors, and project teams.

  • Willingness to continually learn new products, construction practices, and technologies.
