New England Coffee is a brand of Reily Foods Company which manufactures and markets premier food products including coffee, tea, and mayonnaise.ย  Our products are sold in grocery stores and restaurants throughout the United States. ย New England Coffee, based just outside of Boston in Malden, MA is New Englandโ€™s largest independent coffee roaster.ย ย  For more information visit www.newenglandcoffee.comย The Coffee Shop Associate supports the front-of-house retail coffee shop operation and serves as the face of the New England Coffee, bringing our quality coffee experience directly to consumers and employees. This role oversees day-to-day coffee shop operations, including opening and closing the shop accurately and on time, preparing and serving coffee, and maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the cafรฉ, including opening and closing according to posted hours, brewing and serving coffee, filling food displays, taking phone orders, and entering sales accurately.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and monitoring of all brewing and serving equipment to ensure product quality and safety; notify the internal service team of any issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of all materials necessary for coffee shop operations to ensure adequate supply to support demand.
  • Collaborate with other coffee shop associates and the fulfillment supervisor to update front-of-house product offerings based on trends and availability of new items.
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment and tools; report any injury, accident, or unsafe condition immediately.
  • Support and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and understand and follow the emergency action plan.
  • Support food safety, quality, and legality standards.
  • Cross-train to support back-of-house e-commerce fulfillment operations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as standing, reaching, climbing, and bending.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and able to pass a background check.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English (Spanish a plus).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in foodservice or retail is a plus.
  • Experience with cash handling and coffee service.
