St. Francis Yacht Club is one of the premier yacht clubs in the world, home to 3,200 esteemed and diverse members, all of whom share a passion for yachting. Located on the shore of the San Francisco Bay, the City Clubhouse features three unique dining spaces, numerous elegant event spaces and athletic facilities for junior sailors and adults alike. The Club's regatta schedule is one of the most competitive in the world, playing host to 140+ days of racing, including several Grade 1 International regattas.

Founded in 1927, St. Francis Yacht Club is steeped in over 90 years of yachting traditions. From the beginning, St. Francis Yacht Club's membership has included many of the Bay Area's most prominent citizens and greatest sailors. The Club's annual regatta schedule is one of the most active in the world. Both physically beautiful and naturally demanding, the Bay provides a racer with the ultimate in wind, current and weather conditions for truly competitive, exciting sailing.
Adjacent to the Marina District, the clubhouse provides a boating and social venue for members and their guests, featuring deep-water guest docks, outstanding dining amenities and incredible vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. The Club boasts a professional staff, excellent dining rooms, inviting bars and spectacular private party facilities, not to mention extensive experience in accommodating regattas of all kinds and sizes.
In addition to the city-based clubhouse, Tinsley Island is our private slice of paradise, located 60 miles up the Delta from St. Francis Yacht Club. This 40-acre oasis is accessed by a Club-owned launch or private boat and offers a year-round getaway for our members, featuring dockage and houseboats, on-island lodging and kitchen facilities, a swimming pool, small boat fleet for member use and a variety of other diversions in a rustic, relaxing setting.

Position: Sales Associate
Department: Front Desk - Membership
Reports to: Assistant General Manager
Type: Part Time - 24 hours/week
Work Schedule: Fridays - Saturdays and Sundays
Pay: $20/hour
Must be able to work Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
Job Summary:
The Sales Associate is responsible for the appearance and day-to-day functions of the Ketch All shop. As a first point of contact for Club members and guests, the Sales Associate must always present a friendly and helpful demeanor. Main duties include maintaining retail space, cleaning, organizing, selling merchandise and managing special orders for members. The Sales Associate runs the counter, which includes answering phones, and providing information to members and guests. The Associate may also perform basic office work, basic housekeeping tasks, and other duties and provide a positive experience for Club members.
A successful Sales Associate puts customer service first. Being able to efficiently switch tasks to best assist Club members is key. Customers should always leave the Ketch All with a positive experience. All staff will become familiar with Club rules and policies, and be able to provide this information effectively to the membership
Essential Functions:
Greet members and guests in a friendly manner
Run point of sale for shop merchandise
Provide product info to customers and make merchandise recommendations
Place and receive merchandise orders for stock and special orders
Ensure Ketch All is kept neat and clean by dusting, etc.
Arranges and displays shop inventory
Answer phones and assist members with requests and queries
Provide information about Club amenities generally
Support the Front Desk team as needed
Qualifications:
Familiarity with common computer functions (e.g. word processors, web browsers, etc.)
Able to learn specialized computer programs
Able to organize and multi-task
Able to interact face-to-face with customers, both first-time and regular
Retail experience
Sailing knowledge/experience a plus
Confidentiality
Must uphold the highest level of confidentiality regarding member information, files, and subjects discussed about member information between Membership Director, Chairman and persons related.
