Job description

We are looking for a motivated and dependable Shop Helper to join our metal structure fabrication team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants to learn a skilled trade, and takes pride in producing quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist fabricators and welders with daily shop operations
  • Load, unload, and organize steel materials
  • Operate hand and power tools safely
  • Grind, clean, and prepare steel for fabrication
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Assist with material handling using forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided if needed)
  • Support shipping, receiving, and inventory as required
  • Perform other shop-related duties assigned by supervisors

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Reliable transportation and good attendance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment
  • Ability to read a tape measure is a plus
